Hi....
From some days I see that cross epg doesn't work anymore on my DM800se with rytec sources and XEPGDB.
So I've decided to do some researches in internet.... and I discover that there are serious problems with rytec, seems that isn't a temporary problem!
Someone can explain clearly what happens and if is possible how to solve the problem?

I've also tried to update the Rytec sources in the Crossepg menu but I obtain "impossible to recover the rytec sources". I've tried to update XEPGDB but all rytec sources are missing now!

XEPGDB is a system from sifteam, and they have stopped providing that service.
Nothing to do with Rytec, they just used the Rytec data as the source.
Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Ultimate (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)
Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

If you want XEPGDB complain at SIFteam. They pulled the plug.
And if you do not know about the morons which are sabotaging our system (intentionally or unintentionally) you have not read anything in this subforum.

Or install OpenPLi 4 on your dreambox. There is a current version for your box still being produced.
And install XMLTVimport subsequently.

my rytec uk xmltv epg used to take 10 mins to download and save and now it takes under 5 seconds and no epg is showing. why is that?

Have you updated? I suspect you are still using the old source file.
Post the epgimport.log pls.

my rytec sources doesn't update however it hasn't been updating for about 2 months but my epg was still downloading and showing up but this morning it didn't show so i don't think the updating is the problem.

Right file, but old content.
You will need the new one. Which can be installed from the feed.

* Where is the epgimport.log
Open the XMLTV importer.
Press now the info or epg button on your remote.
Now you see the log. This log can be saved, and you find the saved fle in /tmp/

i installed the old crossepg plugin which is 0.6.2 and the rytec sources were updating fine however, when i pressed the download button it still took under 5 seconds and no epg was showing. so i think it isn't downloading the rytec UK xmltv file properly. and in the current version which is 0.8.1 it was not updating rytec sources and still not downloading epg properly.
Can you send me the working crosspeg file if that is the issue?

This is a sligthly different version as mine, which is" enigma2-plugin-systemplugins-crossepg_0.8.1-r2_mipsel.ipk
Install one of these. They work on a current OpenPLi.

And this second file you have given enigma2-plugin-systemplugins-crossepg_0.8.1-r2_mipsel.ipk still says "cannot retrieve rytec sources" so both files do not work.
what do you suggest now?
