I'm 90% sure that no one will ever deliver the goodies you need. They simply cant handle the requested task and wait and see for things to come.

I know that, but I have plenty of experience to get my multiboot solutions working on receivers that I don't even own (and there are much more devices involved as just the CI one) As the binary has to talk to the device and you know the device name getting their "secreet additive" is pretty simple and straight forward. Then you only need some open source soup and ... voiala ...

And you get me wrong I will not do anything as I don't have any personal interrest except that it has some amusement value to watch people insisting to enter the blind alley :P

AFTER having all pieces for your puzzle you can decide to put it together in whatever way you want - without that it is just sharing of wet dreams

The usual pointers. But thats fine for me. Its always a pleasure conversing with you. Some day the bits and pieces come in handy for accomplishing other tasks.

This is simply the difference between cooking yourself and going to a good restaurant :P

I already decided long ago not to cook anything here ... but that doesn't mean that I can't share some recepies or advice ... and using strace and a simple grep for ioctl and a device and looking at the passed arguments is .... like telling you how to cook ... water.

Can be but for a beginning linux cook as me simple things are valuable too.

My roots are not linux.  I can cook a fine meal with dos/windows but zero to nothing with linux.

But its a matter of time and I'm always eager to learn.

The VU+ owners are currently screaming the loudest, I assume that they would be the most motivated.

I`d like to clarify that the owners of non-VU+ want workable cam-module no less.

I'm looking with a Formuler F4 and i need your VU+ like last year's snow.

The topic is unclear anyway, because there are different approaches/ideas on how to solve the problem - I simply recommend the easy one. because then it would be done already.

But everybody has the freedom to ignore good advice and play football and drink beer instead :D

Gutemine will be pleased once more since it contains the autopin plugin he provisioned to the community.

And you made just one more illegal source available for a CI+ client certificate.

This certificate is needed to let a receiver successfully handshake during the authentication phase with a CI+ module.

But they are indeed rather old. Seems 2.1r0 is already invented and provided.

If these files are illegal, then please remove them. And yes, they are quite old, from 2015 Nov.

As I already wrote the latest sources for the dreambox helper are already 7.2 and you can find them in NN2 board (and they are NOT mine, they have unknown author(s), I only had to read the sources to understand how it works) - BUT you should not X-post stuff, but start to change it so that it works with other boxes ...

... and I even explained how easy I think it is to to get the missing piece of information ...

My AutoPin Plugin is something else, but completely legal and open source - it just allows to manage binaries which follow a naming convention ...

it only prooves that you were also wrong in stating that PIN handling and MMI message surpression has to be done in e2 core.

But this brings us back to only my personal entertainment value ...

Look it is not my fault if people prefer to let other people do the work.

The whole AutoPin Plugin started because I was upset to enter my PIN when zapping ... then I was upset to get nerving popups and finally I realized that the the solutions to manage the helpers are hardly adding real value ... The whole AutoPin solution is not perfect either ... but it works on all my Dreamboxes ... hence I apologize for my ignorance.

Now I'm upset to read such discussions ... instead of solving the problem(s) ...

So the whole thing is not about right or wrong - it is about doing and talking .... And when by doing you find out that somebody talked nonsense ... well you can tell him ... or let him continue ... talking ...
