If you can point out where exactly the difference is, I am pretty sure it can be implemented.

OpenATV now supports CI+. Image 20.04 build time 10 p.m. And since OpenATV is open source maybe you can adapt the code for OpenPLi.

It is being looked at.

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Ultimate (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

Are you sure? Because on their forum it says 4.2. But to me it' s just regular CI, not CI+

Did you check that yourself, with your own CI+ module?
And if so: was it on 4.2 or on 5.0?

Installed VTI 8.2 to test what is going on. There is no external application or different driver. The CI+ authorization is done from enigma2 binary. We find some string references like:

CIHost_CIPlusAuthenticationSuccess

CIPLUS [TBD] AuthenticationSuccess %d %x

CIPLUS URI Arrived APS = %x EMI = %x ICT = %x ProgramNumber = %x
CIPLUS [TBD] Content Control Error %d %x
CIPLUS [TBD] AuthenticationSuccess %d %x
CIPlus_crypt_SACencrypt
CIPlus_crypt_CheckDeviceId
CIPlus_License_fCC
g_pCIPlus_License_SAC_IV
CIPlus_IsCIPlusResource
CIPlus_crypt_SACdecrypt
CIPlus_License_FSAC
CIPlus_License_SetGAndP
CIPlus_crypt_AES128_XCBC_MAC
CIPlus_crypt_calcSRMconf
CIPlus_AES128_CBC_decrypt
CIPlus_AES128_CBC_encrypt
CIPlus_cryp_CICAMcertsValid
CIPlus_crypt_calcURIconf
CIPlus_Init
CIPlus_crypt_ARCChecksum
CIPlus_crypt_genSACKeys
CIPlus_crypt_genAuthKeys
CIPlus_License_SetQ
CIPlus_License_FSAC
etc etc

on authentication of CI+ cam, enigma2 saves a /etc/auth.dat file

I think they have implemented inside enigma2 the code that was leaked a few weeks ago that does the signing with /dev/ciX

edit: same strings exist in enigma2 from OpenATV 5.0, image from 21st of April 2015. Tests are from VU+ Duo2.

So, it can be done in open pli or not?

I tried openatv 4.2 and 5.0 with my vu+ solo2 and there's no CI+. There's decoded picture but i can't access to cam info and settings. It just says "wait for CI"..
Decoded picture is also with ordinary CI in openpli and in openpli i can access to cam info. But parental lock can' t be removed and it sometimes works sometimes not.

For example there's no ci+ initialization in openatv at all. So i guess there's no ci+ in image for vu+ solo2

My Max TV CI+ module could decode 3 different channels in CI mode. With new OpenATV it can only decode 1 - same as VTi. Also enigma2 from OpenATV 5.0 does create /etc/auth.dat - same as VTi. However, I cannot find any such code in OpenATV's git.

@shilev: I will check later tonight on Solo2.

I also see some strings suggesting a possible library for CI+ from gkware is inside the binary of enigma2.

Example:

Here is the link for GKWare CI Plus

I am pretty sure now that they use some CI+ library from GKWare. Who provided the library is a question that needs to be answered by OpenATV, especially since they want to play OpenSource. OpenATV 5.0 image for VU+ Duo2 from 20/4 doesn't have the CI+ library and Max TV CI+ module works in CI mode, supporting decoding of 3 different channels from same transponder. In image from 21/4, CAM works in CI+ mode and multidecrypt doesn't work. So I guess they need to at least provide an option for disabling this CI+ support for certain CAMs.

I think there are some developers of OpenATV on this forum, they have to provide some explanation about this.

with version from 20.4. it is CI. no auth.dat file and i can access cam menu, with cam info. also no strings in telnet after strings /usr/bin/enigma2 | grep gkware.

on 21.4 and 23.4 version there is auth.dat file and strings in telnet but i can't access cam menu, it says "waiti for ci...."

can you access cam info in vu+ duo2?

on all versions i can watch 1 and record another channel from same transporder.

i can attach strings and auth.dat file

i guess it is ci+ but it has bugs

also, authentification proces is not there, in VTI for example there's CI+ authentification process, in percentage
