start your 4:2:2 channel on your sat box
go to openwebif in browser and get the channel data
can be any channel for test 4:2:2 does not matter
im using fta channel 4 hd for test
http://192.168.1.4:8001/1:0:19:52D0:814:2:11A0000:0:0:0
install VLC
once installed
navigate to the vlc.exe
mine is in C:\Program Files\VideoLAN\VLC
open cmd prompt
drag vlc.exe into the cmd prompt window
press spacebar once
now paste this line in and press enter (use your own satbox ip)
-vvv "http://192.168.1.4:8001/1:0:19:1B1D:802:2:11A0000:0:0:0:" --sout=#transcode{vcodec=mp4v,keyint=25,scale=0.4,fps=25,vbv-maxrate=1400,vbv-bufsize=1600,hurry-up,vt=800000}:standard{access=file,mux=ts,dst="C:\share\test.ts"}
test.ts will now save to
C:\share
to play it in realtime on your sat box
do the next step
stream from pc to your sat-box with Mount Manager
pc setup
create a new folder on PC - call it share
right click the share folder and tick share this folder on the network
this is where your files will be saved to
go to the control panel on pc and
create new administrative user
call it satbox and the password satbox
reboot pc
login to your normal account
sat-box setup
menu > setup > system > Network > Mount Manager
Add a new network mount point
Active yes
local share name mypc
mount type CIFS share
server IP 192.168.x.xx (use pc ip)
mount options rw
server share /share (make sure you include the /)
use as HDD replacement no
username satbox
password satbox
click ok
go to your mediaplayer plugin
you will see mypc
select that and then you will see your files
select a file to add it to the playlist
press menu
switch to playlist and play your file

When I try the following command on my Windows 7 machine:
C:\Users\Robert>"C:\Program Files (x86)\VideoLAN\VLC\vlc.exe" -vvv "http://192.168.1.106:8001/1:0:1:12C7:2E7C:13E:820000:0:0:0:" --sout=#transcode{vcodec=mp4v,keyint=25,scale=0.4,fps=25,vbv-maxrate=1400,vbv-bufsize=1600,hurry-up,vt=800000}:standard{access=file,mux=ts,dst="E:\FilmyHD\test.ts"}
I get the following:
"Access is denied."
test.ts file is created but it is 0 in length.
I wonder if this is something related to administrative rights.

dont know why you get Access is denied
i just tested the same channel as you TVP 1
works perfect
that channel uses
720x576
so i removed scale=0.4
from the line to give 720x576 resoultion
do not write any scale to keep the same resoultion as the tv channel
scale=0.5 = 50% resoultion reduced
scale=0.4
or
scale=0.5
needed on 1080 HD to reduce the load on cpu when transcoding

Hi,
Sorry but I don't understand how this thread normally for talking about VU+ Solo 4K is now derivating to use the box just to stream a feed and decode it on PC.
Won't it be better to split this thread because this as nothing to do with pure Solo VU+ 4K. This is now a thread on how to watch 4:2:2 feed on a PC using a STB tuner...

My thoughts exactly!
I am personally anxious to see when and how the newest PLI image will be like (once it's out offcourse).
I'm not going to nag when it will become available, I'll see but I for one will test the image instantly since VTI and BlackHole are really not my cup of tea.
I miss some basic features like softcam install, fastscan, ...
Anyway, back to the Solo4k discussion now

8 tuner (or were it 9?) in e2. Littlesat you can start adapting your skin
Regarding tuner: The 2 dvb-s2 tuner(full band capture tuner) can (with special LNB) tune 8 different transponder. With normal LNB you have 2 + 6*loopthrough.
hiya, what is this special LNB you mentioning that allows tuning of 8 different transponders can you supply link / links please
Thanks in advance jud

I wasn't at the ANGA, so I didn't see JESS, but I've read about it and they claim 64 is the max (not meaning 64k, that was some else ). Does anybody have any practical experience with it yet. with octo tuners it might be something worth looking into.

We have a unicable setup within the team. No JESS, but the only difference is more transponders (up to 64 instead of up to 8). And 8 simultaneous recordings on 8 different transponders is already tested, and works fine.
Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Ultimate (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)
Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

If you have other equipment also installed except VU+ Solo 4K (another STB in different room for example), you need JESS. Otherwise, VU+ takes all the available Unicable channels.
JESS is also capable of supporting up to 64 satellites (though I have only seen JESS multiswitch with max 4 satellites till now). Unicable supports 2.
