There is no need to install 'DVD player' in PLi, as all media files are being played via the build-in media player (including DVD (ISO)). Installing it only brings up the DVD-entry in the main menu.

I asked You about this:

OK. I just know if this is problem with specific STB or with specific content.

If the test contents will work also on your STB then I will ask you to send mi example of content which makes problems for you (I will be able to check on my STB).

But, if the test contents will not work for you than this is bad because they work on my STB, so I will not be able to fix them without STB were they are not work.

P.S

In a moment I will add DTS codec support for exteplayer3, so this also should fix audio in some MKV.

Regards,

SSS

Here are files on which I tested:

http://trailers.divx...X1080p_ASP.divx

Also from cmd please try:
exteplayer3 "http://www.quirksmode.org/html5/videos/big_buck_bunny.mp4"

And give here your output.

Yes, as I indicated, I know about that and this is why I tried it (testing if it'll make any difference but it didn't) and reported it, since it always worked - but now it doesn't (in XP1000) and I have to figure out why - possibly WLAN stick, not sure...

SSS, I think it would be good to have more precise links to testing samples, so we (lay IT testers) don't make any silly mistakes... ;)

Or you can make a sub-menu in IPTV Player with those links to samples and we test for you...

Btw, I downloaded stuff you put on my Synology NAS and started testing...

The first sample (Micayala DivX 1080p) is not playing by extplayer3 (no buffering) but it is using gst player (no buff). So, consistent with my previous findings...

And I switched to LAN in the meantime, to avoid potential WLAN issues...

All DivX samples work from my NAS the same way (about 7 of them downloaded), except "Elephants dream", giving me a warning "video/x-avi-unknown decoder" but it is going in a PiG, strangely... EXIT button on my remote and I get it to work in a full screen mode. A bit strange.

Back to streaming: FilmOn BBC1

auto selection - no good

eplayer 3, no buffering/low > no good

gstplayer, no buffering/low > OK! (Even high bitrate works!)

Ok. So, the problem:
[output/writer/mipsel/h264.c:writeData] file pointer < 0. ignoring ...
[output/writer/mipsel/h264.c:writeData] file pointer < 0. ignoring ...
is not real problem. When you want to run the player from command line you can not watch TV SAT, becouse in you watch the video and audio decoders are used for live.

So, you need to free audio and video decoders for example by switch to channel without signal or by disconnecting live signal.

However,  as you check the exteplayer3 is not working at all on your STB. The most probably the video and audio decoders are not appropriately configured by exteplayer3 for your drivers.
This is a bad news becouse without such STB I will not be able to fix this.
On the other hand, you are not alown other users report that the exteplayer3 also not work on VU+ duo.
On VU UNO the DIVX codec is not working correctly.

I have XPEED LX1 and Miraclebox Micro and I tune exteplayer3 to work on these STBs (at start there was also problem).
Other user also report that exteplayer3 works OK on Atemio 6000 HD ,OpenATV.

=====to check the ffmpeg version in your STB=====

ffmpeg --version

I have an ET9000 and several months ago when I flashed OpenPli again I just copied my IPTVPlayer folder to Extensions/ folder and then I regularly updated the plugin using the built-in function.

Recently I decided to learn a bit more and I issued the command above to see if ffmpeg has been installed.

To my surprise it hasn't. I thought it was installed automatically with any of the online plugin updates.

root@et9x00:~# ffmpeg --version
-sh: ffmpeg: not found

What shall I do to install it properly?

Also, what shall I do to make sure other important components such as External Player 3 or External Gstplayer get installed too?

Hello SSS,

i did some tests with the latest version of exteplayer. My stb is ET9000 with OpenPli 4 Gstreamer 1.6.x.

I downloaded some of the test samples you provided, all the video files played fine except  flyby-xvid.avi ,video was ok but no audio.

Also all the .ogg , .wav ,.wma  files didn't even start.

Same audio files and flyby-xvid.avi were playing with integrated enigma2 mediaplayer and external gstplayer.

I loaded latest Openpli 4 with Gstreamer 0.10 and checked again, same results.

Filmon is working with exteplayer3 in both modes.

Bye.

At now .ogg, .wma are decoded by software to the PCM. WAV most probaly use also PCM, so seems that PCM are not working OK on your STB.

But, strange is  flyby-xvid.avi  it use MP3 as audio codec and others flyby-... files tooo.

If plugin detect gstreamer in your STB it as for gstplayer instalation

Please check from cmd line:

gst-launch-1.0 --gst-version
gst-launch --gst-version

According to exteplayer3 at now it is only for test purpose. If you want to test you need to manualny install ffmpeg libs via cmd:

cd /tmp
wget http://iptvplayer.pl/resources/ffmpeg2.8.1_mipsel_nofpu.tar.gz
tar -xzf ffmpeg2.8.1_mipsel_nofpu.tar.gz -C /
rm ffmpeg2.8.1_mipsel_nofpu.tar.gz

According to information provided by @christophecvr "Some xtrend boxes need a max pcm rate off 48000". I do not make such limitation in exteplayer3, so maybe this is a reason why PCM are not playied correctly.

Can you check this and try to play this file:http://download.wave...TTP/HugeWAV.wav with exteplayer3?

Your image has Gstreamer 0.1, not 1.xx?

SSS, this is what I can do to help: I can test and log properly if you supply us with the full set of Telnet commands/instructions....

How's that? :)

Hi SSS,

i tried HugeWav.wav file with exteplayer3 but again it doesn't even start. When i play it from your plugin with external gstplayer it works.

File flyby-xvid.avi as audio codec appears PCM.

@mworker

Hmmm with ET STB the MAX PCM feq can not be great-er then 48K.

But, I do have idea why they do not work with exteplayer3.

I will prepare some experimental version of the exteplayer3.

Warning!!! For test purpose only for users which have in their system new ffmpeg binary.

In version "90.07.00.00" the support for mpeg dash format has been added to the YouTube host.
At you must first download whole video before watching.

To test this functionality you must have in system the ffmpeg binary.
After plugin update please go to the youtube host, then press blue and choose "Host configuration".
Next, please disable option "Use default format", then new option "Allow dash format" should appear.
After save you can change mode to downloader via green button and then download full hd movie from youtube.

Regards,
SSS
