I'm pretty sure that this will break all OpenPLi4 builds...

Why do you think so?
On openpli-4 does not exist variable IMGDEPLOYDIR.
So in theory, IMGDEPLOYDIR ?= "${DEPLOY_DIR_IMAGE}" should prevent problems when changin DEPLOY_DIR_IMAGE to IMGDEPLOYDIR in openpli-4.

oops, of course you're right,

I missed (badly) these + IMGDEPLOYDIR ?= "${DEPLOY_DIR_IMAGE}" lines in patch...

(my eyes just ain't what they used to be... ;))

Exactly, that was my fear as well. The proof of the pudding is in the eating, did anyone try it yet (on 4 and 5)?

And how about the more failsafe approach of Mirakels?

I have tested MiLo's patch which is I think the same as Persian Prince PR. I have build et8500, et9x00 and et10k PLi4 and PLi5 images. All builds were successful. I only checked sizes of image zip files and have not flashed the images.

I'll merge xtrend bsp PR from persian prince.

I also tested today vusolo2, vusolo4k, osminiplus master and master-next builds. VU and Edison have already merged the PR. All builds were successful here.

Glad to hear :)

If anybody could test the new dvbsnoop (https://github.com/p...anpros/dvbsnoop) for old boxes like dm800 (kernel 2.6.x) : http://forums.openpl...ndpost&p=624703

Please send me a merge request for backward compatibility.

@Persian Prince try: https://github.com/p...dvbsnoop/pull/1

P.S.

I think that it is strange that you by yourself are offering themselves as dvbsnoop maintainer for openpli and oe-alliance, but do not want to take any tests and fixes .

Thank you very much :)

As I don't have any kind of STB I can't test something that is specific for a STB like dm800 which only OE-A supports it not PLi.

I can only test the compile part not the behavior on the STBs.

Respected...I see there's a new image OpenPli 4.0 with GST 1.11 and exteplayer 3 for Japhar sim... Will it be the image for the original or not.I can not understand that the project comes to life on some cards, not on the original box.Thanks...

No, there is not. OpenPLi doesn't make images for clone boxes! The place to download official and supported images is http://openpli.org/download.

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Ultimate (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

Many answers to your question can be found in our new and improved wiki.

@betacentauri: do you use any patch not included in master-next yet?
PR means pull request?

PR, yes pull request.

I used master-next and the patches supplied by Persian prince. Erik has now updated the build environment. So the patches are applied for several manufacturers(VU included).
Can you check with "git log" which version you are using? If you have cloned the build environment yesterday it should include the patches.

I did not use other patches. And also not the variable.

I have not tested solo2 build. If I find some time I will test. Maybe something is missing in VU BSP layer.
