From the list of known issues: - "when kodi exits, it always crashes."
This is not happing with me & kodi exits cleanly.

Tried the image in Multiboot and Kodi didnt work .....as posted
Loaded the image on its own and works fine on my Duo2
Only problem is when I reinstalled my B Hole backup image every addon on Xbmc was wiped.
All part of this Hobby I guess,
Regards
AFAIK 13.2 gotham was still using .xbmc directory as a storage for setting/addons. In 15.2 its .kodi directory. So there should be no wiping going on.
I guess you lose it because you had .xbmc directory not on hdd but in home directory on flash. So make sure you make backup of this directory in case you don't want to lose settings.
Is it possible to make a stand-alone plugin?
You mean that kodi would be running without enigma2?
@DirtyDonki
It looks like that python interpreter is complaining that it's missing icalendar python library. Adding it will probably resolve the issue.

Thanks,
So you don't have after exit "kodi_crashlog*" in /media/hdd or in /tmp directory?
It's possible that there is only problem in vusolose gles drivers.
Is it possible to make a stand-alone plugin?
The original version (by VU+) was a plugin, so I would assume that to be the same now.
But it needs the GL-drivers, and PLi doesn't use them.
Correct as mentioned on previous page, there is kodi enigma2 plugin which launches kodi, when playing from kodi it switches to enigma2 kodi plugin for playback, etc...
As for dependencies by vuplus:
kernel config is different, dvb-proxy drivers are used instead of dvb-modules, then platform-utils and libgles has to be there too
https://github.com/m.../tree/kodi_15_2
If we want it to build it by default in openpli, vuplus has to update their https://github.com/vu-plus/meta-vuplus repository

When i first run kodi i got the message that my library was been migrated to a new location which looking at my files simply looks like .xbmc was renamed .kodi so changing it back should work?
There are also 2 blank files that were created in my now .kodi directory named .kodi_data_was_migrated & .kodi_migration_info_shown.

xbmc is installed on my hdd.When the pli Kodi was installed it created the kodi folder on the hdd and put the addons in that folder.
When I reinstalled my backup image the addon folder is created in .xbmc and was empty.
The Kodi folder is still on my hdd with the addons in so is not lost.

Good that you figure it out, I guess I should have added in initial post.
For everybody who successfully completed building of image, here is updated 6th point
6. If everything goes as it should, your kodi image is in your build directory:
openpli-oe-core/build/tmp/deploy/images/$MACHINE/openpli-enigma2-5-$MACHINE_usb.zip

@mx3L
Thanks for your contribution.
About AudioEngine issue, it's working for me.
1 - Revert commit "AudioEngine off"
2 - Check your receiver has next files:
/dev/dsp
/dev/mixer
3 - If the files in step 2 exists, install alsa-plugins (opkg install alsa-plugins)
4 - Edit /etc/asound.conf file and replace by :
pcm.!default { type oss device /dev/dsp } ctl.!default { type oss device /dev/mixer }5 - Restart receiver.
After that, you must edit playercorefactory.xml file and revert E2Player settings to use Kodi Player.
Execute Kodi.
PD: VideoPlayer has audio problems, because it doesn't go synchronized and appear and disappear.
Other VideoPlayer problem is HD video playback because you get stoppages.

@darkmantk
I can confirm that audio now works with internal player. Thanks!
So it looks like, trick was to use ALSA emulation for OSS.
I will add alsa-utils as dependency for kodi, so it's automatically installed, I will also remove external player for all audio, so internal player is selected.
I'm not sure about replacing alsa config thought.
I think it would be better to load our custom alsa config, just before starting kodi. Not sure if it's possible.
VideoPlayer has only limited use, cpu has not enough power for software decoding HD video.

SD video works nicely within internal Kodi player , cpu around 50% for this video:

Sound delay needs to be adjusted when playing video, +0.425 looks to be sufficient.
