In case someone purchased a H9 for the use with a smartcard he would be disappointed. That’s why I mentioned this detail.
Mijn schotel is een T90 met 10 LNB's. Daarnaast voor de fun nog een draaibaar systeem met een Triax TD 78.
Dreamboxen heb ik niet meer echt actief. Verder heb ik ook nog een een VU+ duo2 met 500Gb harddisk + een VU+ Uno, Zero, Solo 4K, Ultimo 4K, Zero 4K, Uno 4Kse. + ook nog een Xtrend ET7x00. Daarnaast heb ik ook nog diverse andere modellen w.o. een Formuler F4, ET8500, ET7500, Mut@nt 2400HD, Xsarius Fusion HD se en verder nog wel het e.e.a. waarmee op verzoek vanalles wordt getest. Iemand moet het tenslotte doen. 
Los van de eerder genoemde modellen heb ik nog wel een rits aan testsamples als Mut@nt 2400HD, HD60, GB UE4K, GB Trio4K, Maxitec Multibox combo en Twin, Octagon sf8008, sf8008 mini en last but nog least enkele modellen van het Grieks Duitse Edision.
Voor centrale opslag van media gebruik ik een Qnap 219P met tweemaal 2 Tb harddisks + een Synology DS414 met 12 Tb Totale opslag.

I guess you mean a CA card reader. It has SD or microSD card. It's no problem for me because I watch only FTA these days and if I really really wanted to use a softcam, I think I have other devices which will read the card data (which I wouldn't then use the card in).Don’t forget that the H9 versions don’t have a cardreader.
It’ll be no problems for some owners I guess.
Then you will need a stable network...

Unzip the file copy the content onto a USB stick with the top folder, connect it in the STB. Power it on then you need to press the front panel power button when USB is display then it should display FLSH the flash process will take a few minutes.

Zgemma has multiple models but some of them use exactly the same image, so I guess that it is normal.

OK, I managed to make it work.
Unfortunately, I have a problem to move my rotor. I trust the Star S2 should be able to move the dish?
Maybe my motor has a fault.

There was a thread on another forum, it was suggested that you need a low power lnb if using a motor. If this turns out to be the case, the driver developers should be notified so they can fix it.

Yes, indeed this seems to be a problem.
I have a Moteck SG-2100 rotor and a twin Inverto LNB.
When I want to move the rotor, I can hear a "click" in the rotor and the diode on the rotor turns from green to orange and then it goes dark. After several seconds the diode sometimes comes back green or remains black until reboot.

BTW there is such a thing as an external card reader.
An external CI slot, that's something which is impossible.

The problem with the motor was first resolved by PurE2 team...

I returned the Zgemma to the vendor and bought HD51 instead.

I hear you may have other problems with it... as in many more... drivers not being as good as with H7S...

I was offered a "personalized deal" (not the cheapest, but few things pre-areanged for me) involving a zGemma H7S.
This one would be for me, myself.
Any opinions on these?
Known problems? Especially streaming to KODI, simultaneous watch+ record ( sometimes involving terrestrial), things like that.
I'm not overly concerned with boot time- it will be treated just like my (very old) Qnap NAS, boot up 5 minutes, uptime 2+ years..

Apart from the uglyness of the boxes, Zgemma's tend to be very reliable and stable. I can't comment on the H7 specifically, as I don't use it.
Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Pro (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)
Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

I honestly don't mind if its ugly.
As soon as the full set is properly up and doing its job, the glass table says "buh- bye" and all that crap gets hidden away.

For KODI, better buy an android mediaplayer.
For all other things is a Zgemma H7S a fine choice.

It's actually not too bad, H7S, even with Kodi (I even managed to play DVD whole folders on it today... without buying a licence! )...
See, it has great PurE2 plugins for streaming etc. Kodi, E2iPlayer and a lot more...
I would say it is by far the best box today...

For the record:
I do not intend to run KODI on any sat receiver/decoder.
I have a separate box for that and its doing absolutely fabulous.
the only thing i request from sat receiver is to stream to it over LAN.
and ability to run(stream or record) 3 streams at once (2x sat+terrestial)
and decent CPU
and decent flash/RAM
