Hi everyone,

I just bought a Sat>ip server for my network und I just found out, that a Sat>ip plugin is not in the feed.
Am I missing something, is Openpli not comparible with it or can I just download the plugin from aother feed?
I realize that remotestreamconvert plugin was once recommended for that, but I want to get the sat>ip as an additional tuner so remotestreamconvert is ruled out.
Can anyone help me on this one?
TIA
Umtauscher

Hmm, very sad, no reply...

It seems since ATV, Vuplus and VTI support it, I probably have to switch.

I'll miss OpenPli since I am using it for years. We'll see how that goes.

Cheers

Someone needs to fork the code, compile it, test it, which is a bit difficult if you have nothing to test with...

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Ultimate (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

Actually both a SAT>IP client and server have been in the feed for some time now.

Ah, didn't know that. So, no issue then.

I've searched all plugins, but could not find a sat>ip plugin. (ET9500, version today)

Wavefrontier T90, Vu+ Duo 4k SE (DVB-S2x FBC, DVB-T2, DVB-C USB), Octagon SF4008 (dual DVB-S2, DVB-T2 & DVB-C USB), Mutant HD51 (DVB-S2 & DVB-T2), TBS6920 & TBS6925

There is no graphical plugin to setup the client, you need to configure it from the command line.

For example, this is how I start the client:

satip-client -s 192.168.0.10 -t 0 &

where 192.168.0.10 is the SAT>IP server and -t 0 means DVB-S2.

package name is satipclient, without hyphen...

(a bit of inconsistency in naming, it seems ;))

That did the trick:

Usage: satip-client <options>
       -s <ip address>      IP address of SAT>IP server (MANDATORY)
       -t <frontend_type>   Frontend type: (MANDATORY)
                               0: DVB-S2
                               1: DVB-C
                               2: DVB-T
       -p <port>            Port number of SAT>IP server (default: 554)
       -d <vtuner_device>   Vtuner device (default: /dev/misc/vtuner0)
-f <num>             Force usage of frontend <num> on SAT>IP server
-m <debug_mask>      Used for debugging, see code
       -l <log_level>       Log level:
                               0: None
                               1: Error (default)
                               2: Warning
                               3: Info
                               4: Debug
-y                   Use syslog instead of STDERR for logging
-w <workaround_mask> Enable workarounds for known quirks for some device
                               0: Disable all workarounds (default)
                               1: Enable workaround ADD-DUMMY-PID  (AVM Fritz!WLAN Repeater DVB-C)
                               2: Enable workaround FORCE-FULL-PID (AVM Fritz!WLAN Repeater DVB-C)
4: Enable workaround FORCE-FE-LOCK  (AVM Fritz!WLAN Repeater DVB-C) CURRENTLY ALWAYS ACTIVE!
Example: -w3 means enable first two workarounds       -h                   Print help

Well, what am I missing?
Today I searched the plugins again and I found that a satip-client plugin is available.
I installed it and it found the satip server on my network.
After I configured the vtuners on my vuplus duo the STB prompted for a restart.
Unfortunately after that there where nor additional Tuners in the tuner setting.
What am I missing? Is it not yet functional?
BTW my vuplus solo2 showed 4 vtuners which I could connect to my satip server. After the resart no new tuners either.
I simply cant get it to work.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
TIA

Erik's satip-client doesn't use vtuner.conf . As I said, you have to run it from the console, or setup a startup script.

Thanks for your answer, but I really can't understand.
There is a plugin that does all the configuration and the client chooses to ignore it? I am greatful for your hint.

When I start the satipclient nothing happens either.
When do you suppose it should be started?

Forgive me, but since when is a STB something that needs to be configured form a linux shell?

I would define this as simply not functioning.
Sorry.

Since the enigma2 plugin is now in the feed, I would suggest to also use the oe-alliance satip-client, which is compatible with that plugin.

Erik's work was just a proof of concept. If you want to use it, you should make an init script. satip-client should run before enigma2 starts.

It is functioning, it is just not user friendly. I would call it "hacker friendly" as it is. But it does function, I personally use it.

Thanks, I can understand proof of concept.

I will try tonight and hope since the UI is already in place it's not so difficult to make the satipclient compatible with the config file.

Thanks again

And as the proof of concept was quite disappointing (as you will learn as well), I stopped working on it. Beside the UI it's complete though. And I didn't write it, I just adapted it.
