Hi Erik,

thanks, I'vo got it working now.

What was so disappointing for you?

What is odd though is that I cannot decode SKY when coming via vtuner.

HD+ works fine. Both are decoded by the same card. ?!?

Thanks

Umtauscher

The problem is that buffering comes very tight, every little delay gives artifacts in the picture. Also the quality of the vtuner implementation various a lot between manufacturers, some to the extend that sound is often unusable. Last but not least, if used as a means to connect two enigma-receivers, it's a suboptimal concept, the internal mechanism of enigma works better and is more flexible.

I can see some of the problems you are describing.
On the vu+ duo it is totally unusable. I don't know if its the drivers or the inferiour hardware. I get tone problems and freezes of the picture. On the solo2 it's nearly as good as a built in tuner.

The goal was to have some centralized tuners, that can be shared between stbs and mobile devices.

I agree there are hickups but I think they are on the client side, because I get very different results on the various devices.
Thanks again

Well this is a fairly old thread.
I can tell you it's working nearly perfect on the solo2 since 6.1
Unfortunately not so much on the duo2.

The satipclient is a daemon, which runs via an init script. You can't start it like that.

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Pro (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

So how can I configure it if it does not detect my tvheadend server?

You can't use the daemon on its own. It should be used together with the SatIP systemplugin, which is the frontend.

Never mind, It finally found my tvheadend server after I installed the DVBViewer media server on another pc. Magically both of them appeared. Now I only have to figure out how to scan the channels.

It should create an additional tuner, so you scan like you would with any other tuner.

The tuners are created, but the scan can't find anything and this is added to the log:

Try to use channel list from feed and don’t use scan.

Update: with minisatip as a server everything works, I can scan the channels, too.
