out of curiosity if channel refercences are whatever we want them to be how does epgimport know what epg needs to be imported for which channels? is it based on the channel name then? it has to match the one of the satellites then?

sorry I missed the obvious.

In order to assign a picon or EPG, each need a different service ref. And since for these IPTV channels this service ref can be anything you want, you can assign them a value from the same channel on a sat, cable or DVB-T.

If you do that, these IPTV channels have the picon and EPG of the sat equivalent. Which also means that then all the normal stuff for picons and EPG can be used, nothing special is needed.

Of course, assigning these service refs one be one, is a tedious job.

On the previous pages some methods are given to load the service refs from the sat (lamedb) into your receiver, and a couple of utilitles to get the service refs out of lamedb.

All the tools are there to do it.

I can of course try. But it is not so easy. Believe I tried this approach for assigning the EPG.

But maybe youa re a better programmer than I am.

You will succeed for a number of channels. But what with f.i Discovery Channel

As example I give you an extract from the channels file for assigning the EPG:

1:0:1:61:A:31:CE40000:0:0:0:

Which channel do you pick?

You may end up with the wrong EPG.

well, the process will be:

choose the provider -> satellite , i.e 13E

only this will be kept

1:0:1:15F:1C84:13E:820000:0:0:0:

currently the beta version is working for me ...

Hi,

I use E-channelizer to assign the satellite channel references to each iptv channel stream and epg gets transferred perfectly however after restarting my enigma 2 receiver the service ref goes back to default and epg disappears?

Can you please help?

Thanks

I do not know how you transferred your new settings to your receiver from E-channilezer. When you transfer them from within the program, it should work, provided you choose to reload the new settings after you uploaded. (I am not very knowledgeable of E-channelizer)

In case you manually transferred the data, you have to do that with enigma2 killed.

In a telnet window kill enigma2 with: init 4

Now transfer your new settings to your receiver.

Restart enigma2 in telnet with : init 3

That should do the trick.

probably you can. Never tried it.

But this problem is not an EPG problem ansich. It has all to do with you assigning the correct service ref to the channel.

And this is something we can do. This has to be performed by yourself. It is for everybody different. But you have to follow the same guidelines.

Have a recent lamedb in your receiver, with the correct sats included.

Assign a service ref from the sat to each correspondig IPTV channel. (Which is a painstaking and tedious work)

Store this in the Bouquet file.

After this you can assign EPG and picons to these channels.

Hello,

You don't need to have the IPTV channel in your lamedb if you create your own channels.xml

Example in my userbouquet I have:

#SERVICE 4097:0:1:a009:0:0:0:0:0:0:http%3A//contact-lh.akamaihd.net/i/CONTACT_1%40321283/index_1800_av-p.m3u8:Radio Contact Vision
#DESCRIPTION Radio Contact Vision
Define you own unique service reference in my case A009 and in the custom channels.xml define it, the trick is to set the namespace to 0.
So it won't search in the lamedb.

4097:0:1:A009:0:0:0:0:0:0:http%3A//contact-lh.akamaihd.net/i/CONTACT_1%40321283/index_1800_av-p.m3u8

The namespace is in the 7th position in the list:

4097:0:1:A009:0:0:0:0:0:0:

Is use it both for IPTV channels in .ts format #SERVICE 1: and for non ts format #SERVICE 4097:
and epg is working fine without having the channels in the lamedb.

I can see rutec uk xmltv but that only does sat channels.

That is the second method of getting EPG for IPTV channels.

But for this method. You need to build your own channels list (channels.xml) and reference this file in your own sources.xml file.

It is even more tricky.

f.i. for the following channels in your bouquet file:

#SERVICE 4097:0:1:6:1:32:0:0:0:0:http%3a//streamer.canalc.be%3a1935/canalc/smil%3aSMIL-canalc-multi/playlist.m3u8:Canal C
#DESCRIPTION Canal C
#SERVICE 4097:0:1:8:1:32:0:0:0:0:http%3a//streamer.canalc.be%3a1935/canalzoom/smil%3aSMIL-canalzoom-multi/playlist.m3u8:Canal Zoom
#DESCRIPTION Canal Zoom
#SERVICE 4097:0:1:14:1:32:0:0:0:0:http%3a//bel-lh.akamaihd.net/i/BEL_1@321282/master.m3u8:Bel RTL Vision
#DESCRIPTION Bel RTL Vision

The following ref has to be made in your custom channels file: (the http%3a//example.com is required but it can be just this)

1:0:1:14:1:32:0:0:0:0:http%3a//example.com

1:0:1:6:1:32:0:0:0:0:http%3a//example.com

1:0:1:8:1:32:0:0:0:0:http%3a//example.com

Save this file in /etc/epgimport on your receiver. It does not have to be gzipped.

This: BelRTL.be is the name under which the EPG is known in the XMLTV files. In order to get them for the channels you want you have to study the rytec.channels.xml.gz file

Now you have to reference this channels.xml file in the rytec.sources.xml file. (in etc/enigma2)

Replace rytec.channels.xml.gz in with the name of your customs channels file for the sources you want to import.

Willy

PS: If you cannot get the first method to work, this one is even trickier. And it is all to do because the IPTV streams do not have a service ref. And enigma2 is build around service refs. They are essential.

It would be so good if the e channelizer way can work its so quick and easy. I have seen many posts and videos that show people linking there sat channel service ref to iptv streams and i do this and works but for some reason after restating my box epg disappears and the iptv service ref goes to default one.

After assigning service refs to streams i write setting back to box and reloads settings so that is right.

Is there a setting on e channelizer that i must change or something else that saves epg and service ref on iptv streams after restarting my box?

Thanks

Hi,

Your references are gone because the script that you install following the procedure of your IPTV provider install another script in your system that is launched each time you restart your box and this script downloads the very latest channel list version and then overwrite all your changes so you lose all your changes.

Take a copy of the IPTV userbouquet, rename it to something else and change this new one, reboot your box and you will see that changes will still be there.

It is clear now, you have an illegal IPTV provider. We have given you all the tools and explanation to get it to work.

It is also clear that your provider does everything, to sabotage all your efforts to get epg imported.

Do not expect from us, to solve a problem caused by an illegal provider. We cannot do this. In the first place because it is an illegal provider. We do not support these.

It is OK if you use or system for importing EPG, but assigning them to your channels is your problem. We support only legal provider on sat, cable and DVB-T.

We would appreciate if you do not bother us anymore with this problem.
