I have a mutant 51 with 2 tuners and a harddisk installed under /media/hdd.

Techically it should be possible to e.g. timeshifting channel A

and switching to channel B while still timehifing channel A

But the only thing I can do when swiching is:

Stop timeshift?

1. yes

2. no

3. yes and save

4. yes and save to movie folder

I read something about permanent timeshift plugin,

but I would like to use timeshift with pause button.

Can this be configured??

Thanks

Not possible with time shifting. At least not with builtin one. But I think it's also not possible with permanent time shift plugin.
But you can start a recording. Then you can switch to other channels.

It would not be a bad idea to have an additional option: convert timeshift to recording. And if you choose this option, have the same options as you get when you press the instant record button (the red dot one).

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Ultimate (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

Yes, would be good. But I think not easy to implement as long we don't rewrite whole time shift stuff ...

And what is option 3. And 4. It makes a recording of the timeshift... Then you can play it via the recordingslist...

@Keepitsimple

The original purpose of Timeshift is to do not miss your favorite program, when you must leave the room (toilet, someone is knocking on the door, preparing the food etc.) temporarily.

If you are still sitting in front of TV, why to even start timeshift if you are not leaving room? If you want to watch different channel and keep current, there is channel recording for this and not timeshift.

But technically yes, you are right, it should be possible. Since you have dual tuner receiver, first one can record timeshift and second one can swith to different channel. But if it's hard to rewrite the code, we must use common recording option and not timeshift.

This means that enigma will have to switch tuners. That will become very complex.
