Again me. What I don't understand is why this never happened with PLi 4. Users could install several plugins/picons/... and then make an backup. Flashing such a big image backup should also brick the box if that is really the problem. But I never heard of it and I can't really believe nobody tried that.

How much flash memory does the first version of the DUO have?

ATV 6.1 image 71,3 MB big. PLi 6.0 75,9 MB. Not really much difference. And with ATV there is no problem?

ubifs uses compression. So flashed image size should be smaller than 128MB... I still don't understand why this image should brick the box.

Edit: Maybe kernel size?
Can somebody with an original Duo post the output of
cat /proc/mtd

Thanks!
It seems there is something wrong. Not with your output, but with the image... We check.

This suggests that the boot and cfe partitions indeed can be overwritten by too large rootfs or kernel images (if partition sizes are not adhered to).

rootfs = 118 Mib

kernel = 4 MiB

From my preliminary research it looks like the duo and solo images may contain the bootloader of the solose for some weird reason...

edit: uno and ultimo have the same problem, I've taken them offline too.

Hello, it's true. 10 days ago, I also recorded the OpenPli 6 and after turning on, only the red LED lights! I have original VU + SOLO. Instructions for fixing the bootloader are attached.After repainting the bootloader I uploaded OpenPli 4 and the receiver is working again.
