Some unknown channels are normal. But this looks like an awfull lot.

At least you got something imported. So the mechanics works.

Can you tell me a bit about your setup. F.i. do you have sat channels or Cable channels?

And there is something I do not see in your log. The buffer for the log is too small so the head of the log is missing.

I want to see the parsing of the channels file.

Can you do the following:

In the import plug-in:

Go to the log and clear the log

Select only one source fi. the basic Danish file. Deselect everything else

Perform a manual import.

Request the log and post it pls.

One configuration you can check is:

Import only EPG for channels in Bouquets. Set this to NO.

I use cable channels, but the box does not have the direct signal.

I have a box in my "techroom", that serves as a remote tuner for my other boxes in the living room, bedroom etc.

Here is a fresh log:

Should not be an issue, all my test boxes use a stream via the fallback tuner, I only have DVB-T in my office. And I have no EPG issues.

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Pro (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

Many answers to your question can be found in our new and improved wiki.

Ha.

I think we have to look elsewere for the problem.

Do you use Remote Stream Convertor or the Fall back tuner method?

Have you copied the lamedb and lamedb5 files from the "box" in your techroom to your receiver in living room etc...?

The importer checks the lamedb for the existence of the channels on your receiver in lamedb. If they are not in there, no import.

If you copied the bouquetlist with f.i. DreamboxEdit it is possible you did not copy lamedb. It certainly does not copy Lamedb5.

If you suspect this is the case, you have to copy lamedb and lamedb5 while enigma2 is not running.

You can stop enigma2 with the command:

init 4

in a telnet window (DCC will do)

Copy the files

restart enigma2 with the command:

init 3

Hi doglover.

Thats might be it.

I just copy the channel lists, i never heard about that lamedb file.

It have worked fine before with the "old" style EPG.

When you say enigma2 can´t be running, do you mean on the main box or the slaves or both?

The box you are the files copying to. On this enigma2 cannot be running.

However, if this is the problem the problem would have been the same with the "old style" files. So I a wondering if this is the real problem.

Do you use Remote Stream Convertor, or Fallback Tuner?

Did you try to give your receiver a cold reboot?

(I am trying all the tricks in my book now - since I do not really know what caused this).

Hello Willy.

Yes it worked fine with the old EPG format.

Im using remote stream converter.

Ive done lots of full reboots.

I also tried to chance the software on the slavebox from BH to PLI, but that didnt help.

The masterbox is running an older version of BH and have done that for some years now. Its only function is as a remote tuner for the slaveboxes.

The software on the masterbox should not matter. (unless you have taken the lamedb from this box, and BH uses a different format of lamedb. I do not know that)

With remote stream convertor, there is the chance that its does not get properly updated.

During the EPG import, the importer checks if you have the channel by checking the service ref with lamedb. If the channel is not in lamedb the channel is not imported, and you get the Unknown Channels entries. When we designed this import, only directly received channels existed. and the lamedb was updated by scanning the signal sources. But now with these streams, one has to make sure the lamedb is updated properly.

That being said, I still do not understand why it worked previously and not anymore now. After all the import process in itself is not being altered. It is still the same.

The new sources a just a reshuffle of the old files. Also not everything is provided in a big file, but in smaller files. The importer can handle these without a problem.

With remote stream convertor you will get entries in your bouquet like this:

#SERVICE 1:0:19:1B1D:802:2:11A0000:0:0:0:http%3A//192.168.1.19%3A8001/1%3A0%3A19%3A1B1D%3A802%3A2%3A11A0000%3A0%3A0%3A0:BBC One HD
#SERVICE 1:0:19:1B1C:802:2:11A0000:0:0:0:http%3A//192.168.1.19%3A8001/1%3A0%3A19%3A1B1C%3A802%3A2%3A11A0000%3A0%3A0%3A0:BBC Two HD
#SERVICE 1:0:19:1B27:802:2:11A0000:0:0:0:http%3A//192.168.1.19%3A8001/1%3A0%3A19%3A1B27%3A802%3A2%3A11A0000%3A0%3A0%3A0:BBC THREE HD

When you now set the option: Import Only EPG for Channels in Bouquets to yes, you may have a problem.

The service ref in your bouquet is this: 1:0:19:1B1D:802:2:11A0000:0:0:0:http%3A//192.168.1.19%3A8001/1%3A0%3A19%3A1B1D%3A802%3A2%3A11A0000%3A0%3A0%3A0 and the importer will start to compare that to the service refs in our channels file. It has an entry for BBC One HD, but like this:

1:0:19:1B1D:802:2:11A0000:0:0:0:

So the comparison will yield a negative result. Result: Nothing is imported.

In these situations: do not use this setting in the import plug-in.

Conclusion:

1. The mechanics of importing EPG work on your receiver.

2. Make sure the lamedb is updated on the slave machine.

3. Set the option: Import Only EPG for Channels in Bouquets to No.

I am sorry but that are the only things I can think of why you do not have EPG.

Willy

Hi Willy.

Back with some good news.

I took the long path and deleted everything and reinstalled the BH image.

Did a new download of the remote channels from the main box.

Success.

I now get EPG on most channels, via CrossEPG (xmltvimport is not supported by BH)

I checked the files General, Denmark, Sweden and Norway.

But some are still missing:

Esport

Tv2 Østjylland

Tv2 sport
CNN
BBC Word
Cnbc
Blomberg
Kanal Østjylland

Best regards
erojohn

It looks like a service ref problem with these.

Except maybe:

CNN
BBC Word
Cnbc
Bloomberg

These should be in the News Channels section under General. You may forgot to select these.

In order to be sure, can you provide the service refs for all these channels pls.

For esports: this channel is very erratic in providing EPG.

1:0:1:125F:3F:46:E080000:0:0:0:

1:0:19:B71:30:46:E080000:0:0:0:

1:0:19:1BA6:44:46:E080000:0:0:0:

1:0:1:4624:1:46:E080000:0:0:0:

1:0:1:9A:1:46:E080000:0:0:0:

and I cannot locate Kanal Østjylland. Is this knwn under another name?

Willy

PS: You seem to have a working version of crossepg. I cannot get hold of one. So can you download it from the BH feed pls. and send it to me. I tried to compile it myself but miserably failed.

Hello Willy.

In the CrossEPG, there are no subsections of EPG files.

General is General, not like xmltvimport, where you can see a sub section.

So im unable to see what General contain.

Here are the service ref:

1:0:19:C9E:51E:FE00:FFFF0000:0:0:0: TV2 Østjylland

1:0:19:AFA:7F8:FE00:FFFF0000:0:0:0: TV2 Sport

1:0:19:1144:834:FE00:FFFF0000:0:0:0: Esport

1:0:1:596:51E:FE00:FFFF0000:0:0:0: Kanal Østjylland

1:0:1:35C:834:FE00:FFFF0000:0:0:0: CNN

1:0:1:226:848:FE00:FFFF0000:0:0:0: BBC World

1:0:1:852:866:FE00:FFFF0000:0:0:0: CNBC

1:0:16:8AC:802:FE00:FFFF0000:0:0:0: Bloomberg

Kanal Østjylland is also knowen as OJTV or ØstjyskTV http://ostjysktv.dk/sendetider.html

Please let me know how i DL and send you CrossEPG. Ill ive done is to DL it via the GUI in BH.

Im not sure how and where to find the file.

Maybe you can also tell me how to DL xmltvimport, as that is not in the BH GUI for DL.

I checked these service refs, and they are present. Also the the XMLTV file contains data for these channels.

For the news channels, you really need the News File. (I suspect crossepg does something wrong here)

If you like BH, can't you use OpenBH. I know this version support the EPGimport plug-in.

How to download a file from the feed of an image.

I hope you know how to operate a telnet session (DCC will do)

In the FTP window of DCC:

First go to /var/lib/opkg (I hope it is the same in BH)

You will see a number of files there. In OpenPLI they are:

openpli-3rd-party
openpli-3rd-party-vuduo
openpli-all
openpli-mips32el
openpli-vuduo

In BH they will have a different name.

Open the files one by one with a text editor and search for crossepg

As an example I searched for xmltvimport

You will see this:

Package: enigma2-plugin-extensions-xmltvimport

Select the filename: enigma2-plugin-extensions-xmltvimport_1.0+git124+a64fbeb-r0.1_mips32el.ipk

Now go to the Telnet window of DCC;

Type in;

opkg download

paste the filename behind this (leave a space)

Press enter.

After the download, you can find the ipk in the home/root/ folder

You want to download a debug version? And don't use any build version information, they change on every build, and are different for every image. Instead, use

opkg update && opkg download enigma2-plugin-systemplugins-crossepg

it will download the latest version in the feeds.
