Also,for Virgin, there are essentially 5 FTA channels. All the rest are viewable. So the live/dead is out of context here.

The Freeview section are the channels which are listed on the freeview webpages. Which are DVB-T channels I agree.
But this are the channels which everybody can receive. Also those which have only DVB-T
The FTA channels are the channels on 28.2E which are really FTA on 28.2E. Only receiver needed.
A lot of the International channels (mainly Asian and religious channels) and a binch of music channels.
The there are categories Sky Live: which are the sky channels which can still be watched on an enigma2 receiver with a Sky subscription.
The other 2 cats Sky Dead and SportsMovies cannot be watched anymore on an enigma2 receiver. I left them in there just for other users.
As you see the split is made on the basis of the satellite. For Cable users this is not so relevant.
But if you find that channels are categorized in the wrong cat, please tell me so I can move them.
Do not ask me to make the splitting up on the base of a cable provider.

it seems the (dutch) ziggo cable channels are not displayed anymore when xz is used..
For example
AMC
100% NL TV
MTV
etc
So channels which are broadcasted by Ziggo NL

Can you tell me the service refs pls for AMC and MTV on Ziggo.

The xz version is not different from the gz version. It is the same file, only the compression is different.

my mistake, the new 'old' version also does not have these channels..
Channels which i also have no EPG anymore are: (using old way)
CNN (ziggo)
BBC world news (ziggo)

ok thx, did a complete reload of the channels and some are now visible and a few not.
BVN, CNN and CBS are now present (after activating gezamelijk NL/Vlaanderen)
The channels which still have NO epg anymore after my reload (i used xz now instead old) are:
- AMC (ziggo), if i understand correctly it will be back later/tommorow, correct?
- all Movistar channels (astra 19.2) i activated Espana vz cersion all options
Both EPG options are visible when using EOL 1-1-2018 option instead of xz, hope this info helps.

Keep on using these for the time being.
For the xz version you need the updated version of the XMLTVimporter.
If you do not have it yet, on OpenPLi just do an update of the image. Or deinstall XMLTVimport and reinstall.
AMC schould have EPG now, provided you restarted enigma2. (The channels file has been changed, and since it is only loaded once a day, or after a restart...)
In each case tomorrow it should be OK.
For the Spanish channels - The xz version does not work yet. ( start 1-10-2017)

thx, i enabled the old espana and Movistar EPG is back again.
Everything seems to be working except AMC, i updated the image and restarted enigma (and reloaded epg) but stil no EPG.
As mentioned all other channels work except AMC, when i also activate the OLD EOL (NL sport/movies) AMC works, but when i only use xz option it does not.

is the above also applicable to OpenPLI 4 ? so we can use the smaller xz files provided we reinstall the XMLTV importer ?

Yes, it works now on OpenPLi 4 also. I am doing it already a month.
Be aware that there is one mirror which has been out of date. The problem is solved, but this is one of the mirrors which updates themselves.
(I upload to a certain location, and the server updates itself from that location. The upload location has been updated now, but the servers need to sync, which could take another hour)

I found the solution for the problem, i have deactivated the option too take only the channels that are in the bouquets.
it was wierd because the channels were in a bouquet.

Hi to all I am a newby I had read this thread but I can't fix it ( If it can be fixed ).
I have a Edision OS mini running the latest PLI image till 30/9/ the epg for the channels in 4,8E ( Greek language ) had no problem with epg.
I have epg till 30/9/ After that I have the message "The channel will be available in the platform till 30/9/ "
What am I missing?
I had checked rytec's new sources for greek in the epgImport plugin
