I have now tested 2 alternative images - OpenATV and VTI - and they both show the same problem initialising a Sat>ip HD channel on my Kathrein EXIP 414E.

So I have made a debug log now from satipclient.

Does anybody know, who is maintaining the Sat>IP client plugin and who would be willing and interrested in analyzing the problem?

Apparently the OpenEmbedded Alliance aka OE-A, as the version I once made working, apparently isn't used anymore.

But I now see we are using now oe-a's client on request of Dima73. Should we revert that patch? Did it work before?

We use the OpenATV one, so that is not the problem.

As the title says SAT>IP client is broken, tuners are never added to tuner list.
I wonder why this is never been reported before O.o

 
 

Did you install satipclient or you simply installed plugin enigma2-plugin-systemplugins-satipclient?


If you did install satipclient and it doesn't work uninstall and try attached ipk.

 
 

What I am saying is that enigma2-plugin-systemplugins-satipclient seems to miss depends to satipclient.

Without satipclient it's logical that tuners never added to list.

So if somebody installed only enigma2-plugin-systemplugins-satipclient without installing satipclient, don't except SAT>IP to work.

Something realy strange is going on here?

Directions and possible solution to the original issue, provided, but never got any proper feedback.

Instead of getting a proper feedback, now get an PR?

Post the patch here, I would like to see what we miss, since we switched to OE-A version too some time ago.

PS. I hope that patch will add the missing RDEPEND as well.

ok, let me try to summarize:

1. Installatin of the Satip plugin and vtuner was not a problem vor me - but I upgraded from 4.0 so I don't know about installing from scratch.
2. satipplugin doesn't terminate properley and therefore cannot be reinstalled, so I don't know.which version is currently active.
3. I suppoose the incompatiblity with the Katrein Sat>ip exip 414e was always there.so I suppose reverting would not help.
4. I have tested the Kathrein exip with Sat>ip app (iOS) from Ses Astra ( it's the only app that uses HD Channels) and it works with the Katrien on HD Channels right away, so the Satip>client of enigma is the incompatible component.
5 OpenATV and VTI have the same problem.


So the problem seems to be an incompatibility of the satip client plugin.
I realize that none of you has the equipment to test it with, I am willing to test and provide logs, but I cannot do anything more.

So shortly the issue is not related to PRs and/or other stuff... but most likely simply related to a factor induced by the 'Katrein Sat>ip exip 414e'....

It should be fixed by Katrein -or- 'something' needs to be adapted in our images....

Given the fact other "clients" seem to work fine, you would say the incompatibility is on our end. Why may just be a timeout value that is set too low.

if there are timeouts defined somewhere, you could simply double them and I could test it.
replacing the satipclient binary should be easy enough do by hand.
