Ok thanks....I will try today and let you know.....

Do the above software and commands apply only for openpli images? As yesterday I tried to install the same packages on another dreambox but with newenigma2 image and seems it failed to install fffmpeg.  When I tried to check fffmpeg version.... found nothing.

It was not appropriate, carefully chosen set of packages for that image, most likely...

One more important thing: If there is not enough space - Flash Expander etc.

Make sure there is a big enough USB device attached and properly mounted, so one has enough space for IPTV Player to write its cache, download stuff, buffer...

No, it's not for OpenPLi only, it's a stand-alone, fully integrated package, as it were. it works on OE-A, ViX etc. as well...

You really need to be careful, though...

No cutting corners, do it carefully...

Good luck!

It would be more useful to see the telnet log - separate them, per command, so we see what's in your image, what commands you are giving and the outcomes...

How big is your flash? How much memory do you have? Do you have a USB stick attached? Etc.

First of all thanks for your help....

Just not to confuse you....My dm 7020hd on openpli 4 image has ffmpeg installed.... but cannot see iptv player plugin.... tried installing it again writing this command:

rm -rf /usr/lib/enigma2/python/Plugins/Extensions/IPTVPlayer
cd /tmp
wget http://iptvplayer.vl...ythonX.X.tar.gz
tar -xzf latest.pythonX.X.tar.gz -C /tmp
rm latest.pythonX.X.tar.gz
cp -r iptvplayer-for-e2.git/IPTVPlayer /usr/lib/enigma2/python/Plugins/Extensions/IPTVPlayer
rm -rf iptvplayer-for-e2.git/IPTVPlayer
sync
reboot

But still not showing even after updating the python parts as you suggested.

Regarding the dm8000HD on newenigma2 image I am getting the error listed in my previous post for ffmpeg. I am installing the old hard version as ssl 0.9.8 and gl is 2.13  for the 8000 image.

No, if ffmpeg --version command says no such command, then you do not have the necessary ffmpeg package for IPTV Player.

Also, you did not give me the whole thing, so you have not done it from scratch.

Please, do it without cutting corners and then come back with full log.

Installing the player is easy. But not enough.

OpenSSL?

Glibc?

Hard or soft?

Then, accordingly choose the package to install. (For glibc v. 1.01 - try 1.0.0 and if that doesn't work, then 1.0.2.)

Then, check with ffmpeg --version command.

To be sure all will be well try running these commands as well:

opkg update && opkg install python-html
opkg update && opkg install python-textutils

Then, the IPTV Player itself:

rm  -rf  /usr/lib/enigma2/python/Plugins/Extensions/IPTVPlayer
cd /tmp
wget http://iptvplayer.vl...ythonX.X.tar.gz
tar -xzf latest.pythonX.X.tar.gz -C /tmp
rm latest.pythonX.X.tar.gz
cp -r iptvplayer-for-e2.git/IPTVPlayer /usr/lib/enigma2/python/Plugins/Extensions/IPTVPlayer
rm -rf iptvplayer-for-e2.git/IPTVPlayer
sync
reboot

If it's there, install IPTV Player.

Start the player and press OK to all suggestions.

Enjoy.

I think better to focus on settings of the iptv plugin on 7020 at the moment.... How can I play my iptv channel list using the plugin?  AS the channels are still stopping after a few seconds but I think I am not using the iptv player.....

Thanks

Try a different package, depending on the versions of your 3 relevant components...

As for watching IP TV: search on this forum, as to how to use your IPTV list in IPTV Player - using Extplayer3!!!

Good luck!

Yeah, it seems to me - an IT lay person - that OPenPLi 6 has a number of things different and so some older things might be missing and then... we have to find a way around them...
