I did make an bouet entry:

#SERVICE 1:0:1:0:0:0:0:0:0:0:http%3a//hd2400%3a8001/8192%3a0%3a1%3a0%3a0%3a0%3a0%3a0%3a0%3a0%3a?bitrate=4000000&width=1280&height=720&aspectratio=2&interlaced=0:HDMI-In (Transcoded)
#DESCRIPTION HDMI-In (Transcoded)

Just a kind reminder, url-encoding the link is no longer needed, if you omit the service type, something like this in your file should work as well:

#SERVICE http://some.server.local/some-path?with=parameters&such=ok
#DESCRIPTION HDMI-In (Transcoded)

Hello Willy,

As you have seen, the record is in 720p, it's not very good. Then, even if you can record well, the picture will not be good. For this reason, I've bought an Androïd box which have an HDMI IN and can record in 4K, and a splitter. It's a Zidoo X9S and it works very well :) .

This is a possibility.

But it defeats why, I am doing this.  I want to find out why it is not working on an enigma2 receiver.

Just for the fun of it.

I don’t know whether it works or not, but give it a try. Create new bouquet entry like this:
#SERVICE 8192:0:1:0:0:0:0:0:0:0:
#DESCRIPTION Xtrend HDMI 2 Input

Then switch to different channel and reboot the box. Then create a timer for hdmi channel in the channel list. But don’t switch first to hdmi channel and press record button. Instead create timer via timer menu or webif. During the recording don’t switch to hdmi channel.
I think for et10000 this was the trick. Maybe it also works on similar hd2400.

Tried this already, and no success on a HD2400.

Just a kind reminder, url-encoding the link is no longer needed, if you omit the service type, something like this in your file should work as well:

#SERVICE http://some.server.local/some-path?with=parameters&such=ok
#DESCRIPTION HDMI-In (Transcoded)

Tried:

#SERVICE http://hd2400:8001/8192:0:1:0:0:0:0:0:0:0:?bitrate=3000000&width=1280&height=720&aspectratio=2&interlaced=0&audiocodec=mp3
#DESCRIPTION HDMI-In (Transcoded)

This worked in principle.  Picture and sound.

However in this special case, the picture stuttered severely.  So in this case at least it cannot be used.

The bouquet entry:

#SERVICE 1:0:1:0:0:0:0:0:0:0:http%3a//hd2400%3a8001/8192%3a0%3a1%3a0%3a0%3a0%3a0%3a0%3a0%3a0%3a?bitrate=3000000&width=1280&height=720&aspectratio=2&interlaced=0&audiocodec=mp3:HDMI-In (Transcoded)
#DESCRIPTION HDMI-In (Transcoded)

worked as expected.  Fluent picture (although in 1280x720) and sound.

First success (but is only an half success).

Made a recording of the HDMI-In via setting a timer on the bouquet entry:

#SERVICE 1:0:1:0:0:0:0:0:0:0:http%3a//hd2400%3a8001/8192%3a0%3a1%3a0%3a0%3a0%3a0%3a0%3a0%3a0%3a?bitrate=3000000&width=1280&height=720&aspectratio=2&interlaced=0&audiocodec=mp3:HDMI-In (Transcoded)
#DESCRIPTION HDMI-In (Transcoded)

The resulting file can be played on VLC with fluent picture and fluent sound.

However, it cannot be played onto the HD2400.  Tried gstreamer, extplayer and gstplayer.  None played it back.

Requesting media info from the file, resulted in this:

Complete name                            : Z:\Opnames\20191212 0700 - HDMI-In (Transcoded) - 2jk.ts
File size                                : 153 MiB

So mediainfo does not understand the file.

VLC report this  (and playse the file):

Stream 0

Originele ID: 17
Codec: H264 - MPEG-4 AVC (part 10) (h264)
Type: Video
Video-resolutie: 1280x720
Buffer-afmetingen: 1280x738
Beeldsnelheid: 25
Gedecodeerd formaat: Planar 4:2:0 YUV
Oriëntatie: Linksboven
Chroma-locatie. Links

Stream 1

Originele ID: 18
Codec: ADTS
Type: Audio
Kanalen:
Stereo Samplerate 48000 Hz
Bits per sample: 32

So the setting in the request URL audiocodec=mp3 is not correct.

Trying to convert this file with several converters, was not succesfull, as the all the programs I tried did not recognize the file.

(Handbrake, Any Video convertor, Avanti, TS-Doctor)

The only way to have succesful HDMI-IN recording is to use original vuplus "factoryimage".

Afaik the code in Enigma isn't complete. It was added when the ET 10K was introduced, and it looks to be hardcoded specifically for it.

It is where the 1280x720 comes from, it is hardcoded, which goes wrong if the input is different, for example on the VU+, which supports full HD on the HDMI-in.

I've looked at it, but my E2 / C++ knowledge is insufficient to improve it.

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Ultimate (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

When I reord from a stream with parameters.

Like:  ?bitrate=3000000&width=1280&height=720&aspectratio=2&interlaced=0

The parameter ?bitrate=3000000 is have an effect.  When I change that, the bitrate of the recording changes accordingly.

Did not try the other settings, but I suppose  I can change them accordingly

After all using in VLC the streamcoomand:

http://hd2400:8001/1:0:19:5221:C99:3:EB0000:0:0:0:?bitrate=4000000&width=720&height=576&aspectratio=2&interlaced=0

Changes the stream to 720x576

Also changing the command to:

http://hd2400:8001/1:0:19:5221:C99:3:EB0000:0:0:0:?bitrate=4000000&width=1920&height=1080&aspectratio=2&interlaced=0

Changes the stream to 1920x1080.  The transcoding chip in a HD2400 can do thus Full HD.

Are you sure you're looking at the HDMI in, and not at the output of the transcoder (which I think you do)?

Wait a moment.  This is not the HDMI-In.  Tried with één HD - transcoding.

http://hd2400:8001/1:0:19:5221:C99:3:EB0000:0:0:0:.........

Is the transcoding stream denotion.

See the 720p and 576p examples.  The transcoded stream changes resolution.  At least for a "normal" channel.

This was just to assess the possibilities of the transcoding chip.

Willy

PS:Did not try it with the HDMI-In.....

Sorry, I forgot to mention it only works with VU+  4K boxes. Earlier when I had ET10000 it used to work as timer recording.

Hi,

The only way to have succesful HDMI-IN recording is to use original vuplus "factoryimage".

i have testet it yesterday with a vu-ultimo 4k and VTI Image, and it even works without a hdmi splitter (picture and sound), but it isn't perfect.

i used for this test a apple tv 4k, but the result is a video with micro stuttering.

i think it needs a configuration to set the framerate 50, 60, or 24 Hz (fps) for record from hdmi-in as openatv it have.

but in openatv it didn't work here with vu-ultimo 4k and also not with a mutant hd 2400 indifferent if you use a hdmi splitter or not.

The easiest way to test that "factoryimage" is to install it with openmultiboot plugin to hdd of the box. But then you need  to have this:

I played around a bit with recording the HDMI-In on a Mutant HD2400.

A recording is made.  And plays back.  However no sound as reported above.

So, I started to investigate the recording.

The picture is being stored as 1280x720.  No surprise here.

The audio is a different matter.

Gstreamer reports an audio track as AAC

extplayer3 reports the audio track as LPCM

Sending the file through mediainfo on the PC give this report:

General
ID                                       : 0 (0x0)
Complete name                            : Z:\Opnames\20191210 1606 - HDMI-Input - instant record.ts

Stream size                              : 293 MiB (95%)

The audio is not detected.

Tried to convert the .ts file to an mkv file, but MKVtoolnix does not recognize the file.

Tried to recode the file with ffmpeg,  No problem with the picture, but the sound is either seen as AAC or A-DTS.

The results is again a sound track which is silence.

So not much of a success there.

Searched the net to extract the audio stream out of a .ts file.  (To examine the audio stream separately) but I could not find how to do this.

Does somebody know how to do this?
