Also, 19.2E 11009 V 22000 11/20.

This is using Octagon SF4008 (tuner internal, Si21662). Image is OpenViX so tuner code is more or less identical to PLi. No hacks or workarounds in the tuner code that aren't in OpenPLi.

@Erik Slagter
Nobody is talking about multistream all of these boxes do DVB-S2X right NOW. Without patching anything!

Which transponder on what satellite do you use to confirm that?

Hi Erik,

I think Mut@nt HD51 is doing well with Astra 19.2E:

tp. 36 (11,009 GHz, pol. V, SR: 22000, FEC: 11/20; DVB-S2X/QPSK)

ET9000, OpenPLi 4.0, 13E, 19E

HD51, OpenPLi 6.2, 75E - 30W

Yes. Go in satconfig tuner selection screen and highlight the tuner. Press the info button on the remote. If your remote doesn't have an info button use the EPG button.

Octagon SF4008 is not supported by OpenPLi.

So what I'd like to see is such a transponder with a lock on one of our supported receivers/tuners, e.g. hd51 (with "DVB-S2X" tuner, or one of the new Zgemma's with "DVB-S2X" tuner). IIRC for both it's also a Silicon Labs tuner, but a different one.

Pity you guys haven't got test boxes available.

I've got a Zero 4K here, which we know has an S2X tuner, and I have access to 19.2. So I can try the info in #42 later today. I don't have an HD51 or H7.

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Ultimate (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

For that box you will need the patch in post #35.

But whether that receiver actually supports DVB-S2X is not debated. It's about the hd51 and Zgemma receiver that have a "DVB-S2X" tuner.

Thanks to you and to athoik.

By the way, in your case, the tuner info should probably show more FEC's available and should also indicate S2X at the end, shouldn't it?

Well the Sf4008 tuner works and the HD51 has the follow on chip for that tuner and I saw a test on another forum that apparently showed it working, so .....

Gigablue Quad 4K & UE 4K, Vu+Uno4KSE, DM900
.........FBC Tuners:
------------------> GT-SAT unicable lnb to 1.5M dish(28.2E)
------------------> Gigablue unicable lnb to 80 cm dish(19.2E)

Octagon sf8008, AX HD61, Edision Osmio 4K+, Zgemma H9Combo using Legacy ports on multiswitches
Zgemma H9twin & Zgemma H9 C/S mode into Giga4K

I don't have HD51 (yet) but someone else reported S2X working on another forum, probably with SI2166 tuner.

NOBODY will display those values, simply because the LinuxDVB misses them.

VU+ partially tried to fix that by introducing unofficial values for FEC. But Capabilities are not covered by their patch and the capabilities structure doesn't fit any new caps...

Sorry I am missing something here.
I am told here that the SF4008/HD51 DVB/S2X capability is marketing blurb, although people demonstrate it working, but Vu+ have a S2X tuner and its abilities are not a debateable issue?

Don't believe everything you read. Here can been found lot of fake news.

All the DVB-S2x transponders which are now available in the world works fine on the HD51.

This doesn't mean that in future this is still so. Below you can find more info and make your own conclusions.

DVB-S2x interest to read is follow:

http://www.newtec.eu...s2x-demystified

1. Smaller Roll-Offs
2. Advanced Filtering
3. Supporting Different Network Configurations
4. Increased Granularity in MODCODs
5. Higher Modulation Schemes up to 64/128/256APSK
6. Very Low SNR MODCODs
7. Linear and non-linear MODCODs
8. Bonding of TV streams
9. Additional standard scrambling sequences
10. Wideband Support

HD51 should support all point except point 8 as this is not possible by Broadcom SOC used in HD51.

8. Bonding of TV streams

Other models (like SF4008) claim to have full support DVB-S2x however this tuner fails on many points.

For point 1 I am not sure but specifications of chipset doesn't mention it.

6. Very Low SNR MODCODs
