One antenna, which works very well and very easy to make.

 

It consists of  abt 1.5 m  (DAB 8A)  wire  or tube.

 

300: DAB freq= wire in meters

 

works well on other bands ,but calculate the length for the band you are most interested in.

 

It can have square shape, circle shape, and triangle.

Which is cut in the middle

 

a coaxial cable is attached to the center (on the cut).

 

Put the antenna in place with the best reception.

 

 

you can do the experiment with a piece of wire hanged somewhere

in the shape of a triangle (all sides about the same).

 

I have SNR 15 to 20 with antenna in the room .

look on ebay for lowest price ,etc

 

I bought two and I'm very happy with the work and the service from nooelec.

I got it for less than 7 days.

 

Chinese are twice cheaper but it's worth it when they do not have a stable frequency like this one,

which is very important for stable work.

The sound seems to be OK in PCM modus.

 

I also ordered a DVB-T stick from here , I hope this one is more stable than the stick that I use now....

First time I've tested my Chinese RTL-SDR ( 8 euro)

without frequency stabilization.

 

And , doing fine.I did not use any PPM correction.

compared to my freq stabilized RTL SDR,only DAB  "scanning" and speed is better.

BUT working OK

The main difference to this plugin and DAB+

is that the sync takes longer with  Chinese RTL-SDR and there is a chance that it is not finished at the given time. (option -W cmd Line)

 

However, if the sync is good. Do the same as well.

I've been listening for more than an hour.

 

Of course for the use it is better to buy a good RTL-SDR right now

because it works well in all modes especially for narrow modulation (AM,USB etc) , and not just for FM and DAB.

Few minor changes in dab-cmdline, table10 languages added (eg Greece uses table10 with value 0x70).
In SDGRadio plugin the added limits -100 to 100 to ppmoffset. Any idea how to add negative vales in ConfigInteger?. Tried ConfigSlider, but the current selected value is not show, just a slider.
Also the json is not decoded to utf8 first, because it seems to cause problems with RDS from redsea in FM mode.


One of the problems with dab-cmdline seems to be the CPU usage, that leaves out many older boxes.

If somebody can review dab-cmdline code and propose changes to author (eg precomputed tables etc etc), that would be nice too.

To repeat the question from @athoik

if anyone can help to improve this nice plugin.

I do not know, about processors and coding

 

but it seems to me that the load of processors, is for some reason too big.

I just receive a compatible SDR USB stick, so I try to install the packages on post: #210 but two libs are missing:
 

*      libfftwf (>= 3.3.4) *   rtl-sdr * 
 
I can find libfftwf in this thread and install it manuelly but I cannot find rtl-sdr, on my VU Solo 4K running OpenPLi 6.1 it doesn't seems to have it as a package in the feed and I cannot find it in this thread.

 

Do I need to install drivers for the key or not on the STB, this is not clear to me if for SDR support the driver must be installed or not.

I suggest as soon the plugin is somehow stable we better can switch to put the energy to get it integrated in e2... so from e2 you can scan and have services added to the settings...

Maybe @athoik has all the packages

 

I do not know how it is in Pli

 

i have this files and if i use other images i upload manually.Only for ARM processor images.

 

of course do not forget to chmod 755

I would ask @athoik if there are all the packages that are required for FM/DAB/DAB+.

They are not present in all images.

 

Files you may need if you have no packages.

Put manually  chmod 755
