Hi,

I have received a new RTL-SDR key but when using the Info button in Enigma2 Radio I have got this.

So perhaps that the output of rtl_eeprom needs some improvements (hexa dump instead of string?)

Found 1 device(s):
  0:  Generic RTL2832U

Using device 0: Generic RTL2832U
Found Rafael Micro R828D tuner

Current configuration:
Error: invalid RTL2832 EEPROM header!
Error: invalid string descriptor!

I do not know why you chose  Rafeal R828D  tuner in RTL-SDR  if we can trust writing he is worse than R820T

and R820T is worse dan  R820T2 .

https://www.rtl-sdr....0t2-tuner-chip/

This is probably a reason why you have an error if you use info and rtl_eeprom a program that probably can not read everything from  Rafeal R828D

once if you buy RTL SDR pay attention to the Tuner
for us is the best  R820T2.

My simple but very effective dab/dab+ antenna.

You need 1.5 m copper wire 1,5 or 2.5 mm (remove the isolation)
2x connector strip
coaxial cable with connector.

Of course, other frequencies and mechanical solutions are also possible , takes into account total antenna element length.

calculate the length for the lowest and highest frequency
142.5: f (high) = a
142.5: f (low) = b

length L is (a + b  ) : 2 = l

To add

The angle between the vertical elements of + - 30 degrees

is not critical

The coaxial cable can go down not just vertically in relation to the antenna

In NL SNR from 18 to 22 with on all DAB+ i can recive antenna 3 meter from ground a few inches behind the window outside

Hi,

I ordered a dedicated metal RTL-SDR tuner from China (15€) it was described to be a R820T2 tuner, but it was in fact a R828D.  :(

It went to a friend of mine to test it and the tuner is working fine fortunately.

The only "problem" that I had is that it doesn't work with my portable computer USB which doesn't provide enough power, so I need to place a powered USB Hub between the portable and the RTL-SDR to have it fully initialized.

But the stick is working fine on my STB too.

@littlesat,

I need nothing, the output was strange but this is unfortunately not reflected on the forum. I should have make a screenshot instead of a cut and paste.

That's why you don't understand what I mean.

The plugin is working correct but I still got the 'sound issue', the music stops after playing a while and switching between different channels doesn't help.

I have to stop and start the plugin, the ensembles will be found, but are not always completed, in that case there will be no sound available.

It might be an unstable clock on my SDR stick......

I’m afraid to get this right we need to include some code in e2 instead of running it actually from a
Command line...

@Tech,

If you didn't get all the ensemble element, it is probably that you need to adjust the offset ppm for your key.

Use:  rtl_test on the frequency/block where your channels are and let it run for a while then try to input the average offset in the setup.

And for the sound, only the PCM ON is working for me, with faad I have errors.

Seting th ppm does not help when a stick with cheap oscillator is driftig on temperature. And I also think this is not the point here. I’m afraid a plastic stick is more sensitive for interference...

Today another RTL tuner arrived, I must say this device is much more stable then the other sticks I've used so far.

Now I use the (NESDR) NooElec.com in a black aluminum case.

[edit]

I also disabled the queue option
