There was a 6.1-release build this morning, so it should be in. I checked on the buildserver, it has this commit: "French translation 2018-01-06 (#1194)" by Pr2, so that should be ok?

There are no nightly builds, releases are only built once a week (on monday), unless there is an emergency fix needed.

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Pro (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

I have an VU+ Solo2 with OpenPLi 4.0 - is it worth going from 4.0 straight to 6.1?

Yes, if only because 6,0 no longer exists (if you install it it will upgrade to 6.1), and 4.0 will be end-of-support soon.

Hello, I have VU + Solo2 from 6.1 on 20180105 and since then no longer looks for updates. I have to re-load the USB soft and set everything up again? Regards

I run 6.1 on my 10K, very happily. Can I send you my waste basket? ;)

  • run OpenPLi 6.1-rc: you can upgrade via the new "Flash image" option on the box. Make sure you have local storage, and choose to flash wwth a backup. Or use the old USB flash methode.

Hi, where can I find an image location? My X-Trend 9200 with OpenPLi 6.1 rc reports that no image has been found. Thank you for the advice.

So what is my fault? I installed 6.1 using USB-stick. Everything works fine.
But in 2 of 3 cases I can't control the box after booting and have to make a cold start. Their are large characters. And this is annoying.
Yes, please send me your waste basket. Or tell me, what I can do to be as happy as you with your et10k.
Kindly regards, floydian

You have to live with it. If it happens, login into your box and execute the "shutdown -r now" (warm boot) command.

In my case it always fixes those "large characters". The only time I see these large characters is immediate after a new flash.

It does, but it doesn't happen that often.

Do the plugins (third-party or from the feed) use also other folders than "\usr\lib\enigma2\python\Plugins\Extensions" ?

No.

Is there any wiki "step by step" description available (with screenshots if possible) about how to autobackup, flash and autorestore ?

No. But it is very simple.

  • Make sure you have local storage (USB disk, internal or external disk, box with an MMC card, etc).
  • Press menu, go to Setup, Flash image
  • Select the image you want to flash
  • Select you want to flash with a backup
  • Make yourself some coffee...

After the flash, your backup will be automatically restored, your installed plugins (if not installed manually) will be reinstalled, and you are back in business.

On slower boxes it will be faster than a software upgrade of 400+ packages...

Thank,,,Very good   :)  :)  :)  :)
