I had a look at the link you post and I am really surprised to read the countries they mention using ISDB-T (In the windows compatibility section). 

According to me none of them are using ISDB-T but rather DVB-T(2).

ISDB is used mainly in Japan and Brasil and South-America.

 

But have a look at  the result of:

 

lsusb

 

Then google for the references (ID) you found to check if a driver exist.

OpenAtv 6 - ISDB-T Siano Usb stick

Hi all,

I'm trying to use my Siano SMS2270 USB ISDB-T stick with OpenAtv 6.0 (Azbox mini me) with no success.

The USB Stick is recognized but the MDTV receiver device is not.

I manually load the modules smsmdtv, smsdvb, and smsusb, but the MDTV receiver device is not linked to the USB device at all.
It's kind the kernel can't handle the MDTV device / can't recognize it. All the drivers installed are from the Openatv 6.0 distribution.

The stick works fine under Windows.


Any direction would be appreciated...

Hi,

It seems that this device is capable to do both DVB-T (mode 0 and 4) and ISDB-T (mode 6) so you need to set the device into mode 6 if you want to use it in ISDB mode:
 

echo "options smsmdtv default_mode=6" | tee /etc/modprobe.d/smsmdtv.conf

Reboot needed after this change.

But I am not sure if OpenPLi is capable to handle properly ISDB since it's not available in Europe.
