Hello.

Does any of the new OpenPLi-compatible receivers support FBC-tuner and SCART?

Best regards. ;-)

@ ccs:

I tried that before but the downmix-quality was awful cloudy.

Scart will never have a decent quality.

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Ultimate (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

The question is may be, why do you still need SCART?

Given the fact that there won't any device available accepting HD on SCART anyway.

A lot of boxes still support cvbs via cinch, I think you have to focus on that instead of scart, but indeed, it is better to ask yourself why you still need a scart.......

At least SCART can output component video (RGB), cinch is composite which is even worse (far worse) quality.

First: Thanks all for your replies. ;-)

One of my TVs is an old 32" Sony-CRT screen, that still doesn't want to die. And, even if it's resolution isn't even "HD ready", the image quality isn't to bad.

Now I' relocated and the new flat has support for digital cable-TV only. At least, it's just a question whether to buy a DVB-C-Tuner for my old Duo2 (has SCART-OUT) or change to a possible new and compatible OpenPLi-Receiver with FBC-tuner and SCART, if that is existing.

@Tech:

Does cvbs via cinch supplies the same quality than 1:1 SCART, or is there any loss of data?

CVBS is worse than RGB in scart...

for tv inputs should be quiality:

1) HDMI/DVI

2) RGB/D-Sub

3) YPrPb/YCrCb

4) S-Video

5) CVBS

6) RF

I was thinking that you need SCART because you were using a RF screen replicator that's why I was asking the question.

Don't you think that it can be more interesting to invest in a TV that has HDMI and DVB-C + CI+  native support rather than looking for a new STB?

SCART is obsolete now and FBC is quite new so I don't think that you will find a STB with SCART and FBC.

I also kept a Sony 32" that was still fully functional but at some stage it needs to be replaced.   ;)

No. The picture-quality is not as good as scart.

Thanks Dimitrij. ;-)

But if ims and nor50 are right, I would prefer buying the DVB-C-tunercard for my Duo2.

@PR2:

I have a modern TV as well and use it with my Uno4kSE. But my old Sony will survive as well. ;-)

You are so rude to your old Sony. ;-) ;-) ;-)

SCART is component and composite video (on a STB, on a VCR it's only composite).
