It's handier to do this twice, once without and once with the stick connected, so you see the difference and know which one the stick is...

Was directed to @Search40.
And that value might easily be a coincidence, every USB device has it's own unique ID, which is related to the manufacturer / product, not to the chipset used. In case of the Mediatek MT7601U, you have the original product (which you seem to have), but that is by no means the only device with that chipset.

@WanWizard
I do not have any other USB connected to box, this is correct 100%, i did this twice.
Mine is missing this line:Bus 001 Device 003: ID 0781:5567
To be honest i think most of the Chinese USB Wireless and DVB-T T2 are Clones, the Original ones are expensive, been buying long time there.
mine maybe is Clone of the Clone, this is OK with some Chinese products is well.
I could not say further not expert, maybe that line above is the problem.
Thanks ColinB for you help!!

I asked you to compare your own situation before and after connecting the USB wifi stick. Not with Colin's (id 0781:5567 is his Sandisk stick).
If you mean you do have "148f:7601", then there is no reason why the mediatek driver shouldn't work on your box.

I did lsmod on telnet here:

Loosk fine, stick is detected and both required modules are loaded.
if you now make sure it has the firmware too:
opkg update opkg install --force-reinstall firmware-mt7601u
the stick should work after a reboot. If not, I'm out of idea's.

Not working, this is 1.78 $ USB so I assume it is only maybe for Windows made, I tested on Amiko Mini Combo HD Se yesterday and it was like on-of, so did not work there is well, I will test on Edision Picollo tomorrow to see what happen, Thanks WanWizard for all your help!!

The chip has no clue what OS is used. I more suspect the clone is build from worthless components, so I guess it's a case of getting what you pay for.
