@SpaceRat

I´ve seen today t the m3u8 file for streaming recorded movies doesn´´t include user credentials, not -sid and not caches users

I see the code in getStream

https://github.com/E...am.py#L109-L121

it is not found in getTS

https://github.com/E...am.py#L207-L220

is there a reason why getTS doesn´t create similar m3u8 requests with users if streaming auth is enable?

I´ve patched today stream.py on my box ot generate also credentials for streaming recorded movies.

getTS has now the same code for credential generation included as getStream

It works from my point of view

I´ve installed the latest OWIF from the 7.0-release feed from the buiild tonight

https://github.com/O...7e5c25c95fdb18d

It works know with creating the correct credential for live TV and recorded movies  in stream.py (-sid user or noshell user)  but the patched httpserver.py from

https://github.com/O...be374fcee904ce5

is not included, so auth for transcodes streaming doesn´t work because he auth fails in httpserver.py if auth is enable

If I use the patched httpserver.pyo from the previous version of the feed, then it works

Is think yout must include the patch

I've ported that commit to 7.0-release, will be in the next build.

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Ultimate (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

It has side effects though, which I was planning to fix together with some other fixes. So it might not be the best approach.

Sounds like a feature for 7.1-release. ;)

Yes, I am planning improved OWIF / authentication support for 7.1. I'm already working on it. Which will also include proper audio track selection for live transcoding streams, did I already mention that?

That is correct, because it's "patched up" by us.

The work is going for 7.1 and I am not sure yet whether it will be able to suit your situation. The good news is, that you can always patch it yourself, you already did id before ;)

We will see what would be in the future.

Since some days I´m able to build the complete openpli images on my old PC on ubuntu 18.04. Now it is possible for me to change also cpp code ;-)
