Hello,

Thanks for answer. Can You tell me how to install this drivers?

On settings -> plugins -> drivers i don't have this driver to install.

RTL8812au is the correct driver for this dongle?

We don't have meta packages for wifi drivers.

You can either use the commandline to install them, or use the software manager, which has the option to see and install all available packages in the feed.

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Ultimate (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

I guess this RC is connected via Bluetooth? If yes, you first must connect the box with this RC. I don’t know by heart whether the Uno 4Kse also has BT.

Just checked. Default no BT. VU+ Bluetooth 4.1 USB Dongle

Concerning the WIFI dongle. I recently installed an original WIFI dongle with external aerial on a Uno 4Kse and this worked out of the box.

Hi,

this seems to be the old IR remote with keyboard on back. In former boxes/driver the keyboard part worked as soon as you pressed the open lock button on the bottom left. I do not know if new boxes are still supporting it.

ciao

Yes this is IR remote. When I click open lock and try to write something I get big "X" icon in top right corner on the screen.

The qwerty part won't and can't work due to the way VU+ has implemented it.

AFAIK it's has been a long time ago that this remote control was sold.

I've found RTL8812au driver the software manager, so thank you very very much!

Hi guys,

I have been having a issue trying to get my WiFi dongle to work with OpenPLi . As above the chipset is RTL8812AU .

The dongle itself is GigaBlue usb wifi adapter dual band 600mbps and my receiver is Formuler F1 .

I can get it to work on OpenATV however I very much prefer OpenPLi . I would greatly appreciate your help on this.

@Malwurf how did you do it exactly ?

I have tried both 6.2 and 7.0 however I'd prefer to use 6.2 since I couldn't get mgcamd to work with 7.0

Thanks in advance for all replies.

Oscam? For a wifi stick? ;)

@ArtiNI,

Unlike other images we don't preload the image with all sort of drivers virtually nobody needs, so you need to install it.

On  the commandline:

opkg install rtl8812au

or use plugins, software management, advanced options, package management, and select it from the list.

Hi,

So I did give it a try and followed the above instructions.

Currently I'm on OpenPLi 7.1 stable and my wifi dongle works!

Thank you so much guys!

I have ran into another problem. The box does not recognise my HDD. It worked ok on OpenPLi 6.2 and OpenATV so it's not a hardware issue.

Would be grateful for another advise. It's probably something simple as well

Many Thanks!

Is your HDD Internal? External? eSATA or USB?

USB devices are mounted on /media/usb. So if you have /media/hdd defined somewhere, it won't work.

OpenPLi doesn't need this hardcoding, like other images, it can find the disk and use it, no matter where it is mounted.

So make sure there is no hardcoding: menu - setup - system - expert settings - recording paths, and either use "<default movie location>" or /media/usb (if you want to define it explicitly).

Hi @Malwurf , did you managed to put this remote control to work? They still sold this remote control and should be compatible with a lot of new and old models. Probably enigma2 is not yes prepared for qwerty :)

Please install evtest on your stb box and from shell run "init 2" without quotes to shutdown enigma2 and free the input device, then run evtest, select the right event device (usually 0) and then enable the keyboard, you should see all keypresses on the evtest output. At the end run "init 3" to start back the enigma2, or type reboot

Edited by serdeliuk, 13 March 2020 - 19:21.

init 2 && init 3
