Hi,

I've just installed two Zgemma H9 combo's and fitted them with internal 500Gb SATA drives and although the disks are reported as 'internal' in the menu under the 'Harddisk' setup area, they are reported as 'usb' under the 'recording paths' setup area. Browsing the directory structure via FTP only shows a 'usb' directory under the 'mnt' parent. If I browse the 'hdd' directory, I get 'critical file transfer error' reported in the FTP tool.

A bit of background about the HDDs, they have been removed from two enigma2 boxes, a DM800SE running PLi 4.0 and an Xtrend 8500 running PLi 6.2 - so both drives have been initialised and mounted under PLi images and I've moved them about between other enigma2 boxes without a problem, they are just seen as the internal drive with no fuss about mounting them.

Although the Zgemma has mounted the drive as a usb drive the file player still sees the 'movie' directory as normal and plays all the previously recorded files OK. My main concern is that the 'Hard drive standby' setting seems to be ignored and the hard drives spin constantly.

Is there anyway to fix this, is is possible to mount them via a telnet command? I'd rather not re-initialise the drives and loose the content.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the reply,

root@h9combo:~# sfdisk -1

It seems the command is not recognised?

/dev/sda:

issuing standby command

root@h9combo:~# hdparm -C /dev/sda

/dev/sda:

drive state is:  standby

Yes the drive does go into standby but restarts and stays on when accessed in the PLi user interface - the menu setting seems to being ignored.

For mount as USB...

Problem this :

root@h9combo:~# cat /sys/block/sda/removable

1 = usb(removable drive)

For standby mode same problem(not start standby timer) -->1 = usb(removable drive)

https://github.com/O...arddisk.py#L102

This should be reported to the manufacturer, maybe they can fix this error.

I'm not sure what I'm looking at here as you seem to have posted OpenPLi enigma2 code and how it handles functions such as Standby amongst other things. What are you expecting the manufacturer to 'fix', they do not supply Open PLi?

Everything is correct here.

/dev/sdc 959.7M 0 959.7M 0% /media/sdc

Everything is correct here.

/dev/sdc                959.7M         0    959.7M   0% /media/sdc

Are you showing me that you've successfully mounted a hdd in a h9combo? I would have expected it to be mounted as /media/hdd?

Here is the solution:
1)Label the device with the name 'hdd'

Use plugin enigma2-plugin-systemplugins-mountmanager -->option "Label for device"

2)For standby mode...

Use plugin enigma2-plugin-extensions-hddsleep.

These solutions work very well, thanks. It also removes the lock on the '/media/hdd' directory when accessing via FTP which is good.

This solution also works and was used on the second box, thanks. Although I assumed the 'reboot' command also needed to be run after the re-name.
