good morning a courtesy

I have octagone sf8008 with openpli 7.2 and isetting e2 plugin

the problem is that the latter does not work well on the dec / image in question, above all it cannot scan the DDT for both channels and bouquets and LCNs.

the error that appears is that the tuner is not configured (it also happens on zgemma h2 same image) and therefore it is not possible to retune new ddt channels.

if I tune directly from tuner-scan- ddt it obviously works but the channels are not stored in lcn order, but the tuning does it without problems.

moreover sometimes isettingE2 does not seem to digest some updates of the sat lists in particular also the vhannibal ones that appear with errors after updating

I can't understand if it is an incompatibility of the image decoder (but I don't really like the openAtv) or image plugin (inclined for this since it also has the problem on Zgemma).

Do you have news or solutions? Can openpli developers be contacted to find out if it is fixable?

Thank you and sorry for my english

There is a lot of drivers updates by octagon but only for oe-a images.
Why there is no driver updates for us Pli users ?

Many manufacturers have a tendency to release beta drivers to OE-A, and have them (and their users) do the testing.

We are not interested in beta stuff, we don't release bleeding edge images...

p.s. we received the last update from Octagon 4 days ago (https://github.com/O...openpli-oe-core), so not that old.

LOL. Some people lead, others follow... Some say it is winning that is important, others say it is taking part. All depends which side of the fence you are on. How often do you hear a good looking person say "beauty is on the inside". Or a race winner say "it was taking part that was important". Or an STB owner say I want to wait 18 months before I can run multiboot images on my brand new shiny STB. :D

Not my words, but captains'. Who can't stop complaining about the poor quality drivers he gets tossed over the fence.

And confirmed by several manufacturers, OE-A gets several iterations before drivers are deemed stable and added to our vendor BSP.

Which manufacturers say they use OE-A as a beta test bed for drivers being prepared for PLi images?

Mea Culpa, my brain isn't all that anymore, it was "twol" who wrote:

You are correct - I am biased! .......

I think the difference is that I see all the driver updates that come into the OE-A - openPli (from my observations) only see the final fixed update - so where I see 3 or 4 Vu+ updates (to fix the same thing) OpenPli receives only the final update .
So like most things, your views are based on what you see, and mine on what happens in the OE-A.

Strange, quantity normally has nothing to do with quality, this is not a factory product. Last time I checked OpenPli I had to fix drivers and quite a lot of other things to get it crashfree. Took my time to check how this team works and the result is I switched my source choice and can't continue to recommend anybody to use OpenPli. OpenPli is not the image that I found once to be most stable, of my choice, neither is the team here after checking it out. It is not the fault of drivers but of people offering this software.

It was never about quantity, it was always only about quality and it seems OpenPli can't compete anymore and you are out of people willing to do so, most here are simply indoctrinated with a spreading brand OpenPli, sadly this ship does not seem to sail anywhere fast and it has nothing to do with 3rd party soft development.

"I had to fix drivers". What a load of bull.

Drivers are supplied by the manufacturer as .ko files, and I am very sure you don't have access to the VU+ sources.

This, like your other recent posts, show clearly you have absolutely no clue what you are talking about.

VU+ drivers are closed sources, what a load of bull assumptions of you if you think that nobody has access to it. Like in quite a lot previous posts, you always only assume but you take it as a fact, that all as first and as second I was not talking about only specifically VU+ sources, that is once again another of your assumptions, wrong assumptions.

You manage to insult in quite every post you do? Or do you try to go into offtopic without to mention it? Maybe you should actually just care about yourself and if you have a clue, I hope you do but that clearly is not on topic here, right?

 Fine. I call your bluff.

Prove to everyone here you have driver sources, from any OpenPLi supported box.

Didn't you say you are not interested? You just try to get offtopic. Where did anybody mention it is OpenPli supported box or what would you define as one, the one the ressources are available are those you do not support anymore?

Beside all of that, you call for me to post here non public drivers? What a nonsense, however, you just try to get offtopic.
