The problem with that hypothesis is that there is no other SoC manufacturer that makes BCM equivalent SoC's.
Both HiSilicon and AMLogic only make entry level SoC's for the streaming or single tuner market, and even the HiSilicon's are difficult to get at the moment, the new zgemma's are also build using a streaming SoC...
Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), Mutant HD66SE (S2+T2), (Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)
