Repo url's with starting with git:// are no longer supported by Github. They either need to be changed to https://, or "protocol=https" needs to be added.
What branch are you building?

I don't have a build environment for 8.1 here.
But it is not too difficult. In the root of your local OE folder, open "bitbake//lib/bb/fetch2/git.py" in your editor.
Scroll down until you find
if not ud.proto in ('git', 'file', 'ssh', 'http', 'https', 'rsync'): raise bb.fetch2.ParameterError("Invalid protocol type", ud.url)
then add this before it
if ud.host == "github.com" and ud.proto == "git": ud.proto = "https"
Note that this is Python, so indentication must be correct, and if the file uses leading tabs, you must do this to.

Server seems to be offline.
You can try replacing it with "http://fra.de.distfi...nc-0.4.0.tar.gz" in ./meta-openpli/recipes-devtools/python/python-yenc_0.4.0.bb
It it persists we'll update the recipe.

You need to copy the link (right-click and copy link), not copy and paste it, as the forum software shortens it (with the ... in the middle).

So far all I can find are package version 1.0, and we need 1.1.
Thinking about a "plan B" now.
