Hi everyone,

I used VDR before begin loving my dreambox. The only thing I miss at the moment is the availability of using an SVDRP client.
Is there a possibility to install SVDRP on my DM800 with the actual Jade-Image?

With this protocol you can send commands to a vdr via tcp on port 2001.
You can for example telnet on port 2001 and send

CHAN+

to switch to the next channel.

A complete list of the available commands is available in the VDR-Wiki (german).

I love this, because you can write your own little programs to remote control your VDR from a pc (or e.g iPhone etc).

Sorry if my question is a little bit dumb, but what does it mean.
Does my PLi-Image has such a functionality, and if so, how can I use it (documentation)?

Hi,

can anyone give me a hint how I can control my dreambox via TCP (switching channels, change volume, start streaming, ....). As mentioned earlier on VDR this protocol is known as SVDRP.

Thank you for this links, I'm very familiar with SVDRP and coded a program for a VDR. The problem is, that SVDRP (Simple VDR Protocol) is only for the VDR. What I want to know is, if there is a similar way to control my Dreambox.

Sorry, I´m not coder, then I can´t help you with your SVDRP issue...

... but when you only looking for control Dreambox via network, yes is it possible and very nice, when you use the right device such as remote control...

... it´s only alpha version, but fully working, quicker such as via IR remote control

...with PLi image don´t work first screen "Services" now, but with Gemini image working fine...
... all other function working with PLi image...
