Only boxtype known to work is the DM9x0. A 'special' plugin will allow 1080p recording with sound. Please note that HDCP is *not* circumveaned by the plugin!!

I have access to a Golden Interstar LX3, it has always worked for me with audio. I made these videos in 2014 with the recordings made on the GI LX3. I was recording from a TM Twin.

#wanwizard, #abu baniaz. I had a topic on the dutch forum about recording with hdmi-in but I had a problem with the sound. I made recordings trough hdmi-in on a hd2400. It all worked well only I had a problem with the sound. Recordings with digital sound were okee but recordings with analog sound didn't work. I tryed to make recordings from my video camera with cassettes. I used a scart to hdmi converter. The screen recordings were good but whatever I tryed I cannot recording the sound. The answers in that topic were that analog sound is not possible trough hdmi-in. So in my case was recording with hdmi-in possible but only with digital input. Ps, sorry for my bad english, I hope I used the right words. Grtz, youto.

I just reported it again to Vu+ hoping it will be solved in due time.

In the meantime I have compared the code in VU+'s "enigma" with ours regarding recording from HDMI-IN and I can find no functional differences. So I don't think it's a specific OpenPLi bug, otherwise I'd be happy to fix it.

I think the HDMI-IN lacks the analogue conversion alltogether! It's purely a digital-only input...So nothing to change by VU+. Apart from the fact that VU+ plays 'dead' since september 2020! Could well be that VU+ has thrown the towrl in the ring...

Nothing is dead, I've had several contacts with them over the last few weeks regarding BSP updates. And assuming "schon" is a German, it means they aren't dead either, if they are still busy with OpenVu+.

What was the input? And have you played it back?

 

The last time I checked, recording on my Duo 4K didn't work if the input was 1080i.

it comes from a chromecast 1080 i think

 

and it plays with my vu ultimo 4k as 720 and on a pc with no problems with vlc

on the hdmi is a chromecast that runs netflix

it also works on openpli 8.1

It may do, but not on the Duo 4K. Most likely a driver issue.

I can record but I cannot find anything about solving the missing audio. Is it possible to solve?

Don't know, I can't test it anymore, my Duo 4K lives in the attic as a recording box.

I just tried this on a Duo 4K  that is on 23 May Develop image and got a crash. I was using a Zgemma H9 SE as source.

That is the FCC bug, fixed last night, so will be in the next nightly build.
