@all,

About half a year after the last Release, the official Release of the OpenPLi 8.0 release (Zeus based) version is finally available for our endusers.

The team has done its utmost to make this version compatible with most currently supported models. However, the user should take into account that for the older models of most supported brands there isn’t very much free space available for placing extra plugins besides a channellist and a softcam. To switch to this version it is necessary to perform a flash via USB or from the menu. With the online flash method combined with a correct backup you will be up and running within minutes, depending the number of plugins and speed of your hardware. Plugins installed outside of our feed will need to be reinstalled.

We hope our users will be satisfied with this latest Release. You can find all Release Notes, so also for the 8.0 Release overhere. https://wiki.openpli.org/Releases

The 8.0 release candidate, including the plugin feeds, has since been removed from our download servers. As usual the new Images can be found overhere but it’s most easier to perform an online flash via menu - setup - flash an image.

If I had all the knowledge I had no questions at all.

It's looks almost everything works fine. The only one problem is with KODI plugin. When i turn KODI the system is freeze and can't use the romote control keys. I can connect the box by "putty" to restart my box (Ultimo4k).

Hi, great news :)

I have been running the RC on sf8008m for a few weeks and have been very happy with it, so wanted to try to go to the final release image (openpli-8.0-release--sf8008m-20201230_usb.zip from menu it does not work:

- I choose to install the image to  "Slot1 - Empty slot with backup"

- It runs a backup to /media/usb, it downloads, and when it unpacks the image it takes a few minutes and then I get an error message telling me that "image to install is invalid"

Is this expected behaviour? Or am I missing something ?

Thx

/WaferSat

and what exactly problem you have with exteplayer? with installing it, or running?
root@vs1500:~# opkg list-installed *player3*
exteplayer3 - 68+gitr125+52666ca-r0.9
you can install dependencies for e2iplayer in bulk by running the console command:
opkg install enigma2-plugin-extensions-e2iplayer-deps
this will install the following:
Recommends: duktape, exteplayer3, f4mdump, ffmpeg, gst-ifdsrc, gstplayer, hlsdl, iptvsubparser, lsdir, rtmpdump, uchardet, wget

No. You need to flash. But if you do it via menu, you get option to use settings from 7.3.

respectively; I do it with the menu, add-ons, software management, update the software options, I am out now, if I do not try it when I go home, I can do it over usb, the multiboot software is not visible now.
