So if you wipe TMPDIR and just rebuild it from sstate it works.
But If you then -c cleansstate pvr-dvblink or pvr-pctv and retry to rebuild that fails.
Very very bad sign

@WanWizard
did your builds finish? I don't read from you, good sign.
I hope to be able tomorrow to check that messy recipes
Just for fun, the first one, the kodi-addon-pvr-dvblink peeks in kodi-platform sysroot!
do_compile
-I/tmp/build/tmp/work/vuduo2-oe-linux/kodi-platform/18.9+gitrAUTOINC+809c5e9d71-r0/recipe-sysroot/usr/include
...
-I/tmp/build/tmp/work/vuduo2-oe-linux/kodi-addon-pvr-dvblink/4.7.3+gitAUTOINC+add73616c2-r0/recipe-sysroot/usr/lib/include
Crazy things at first sight for me.
Too late now, gn.

Current build has done about 20 images after your PR, without failure, so yes, some good news.
There are more bad recipes liike that. Some work fine if you configure bitbake not to run tasks in parallel, or if you build only one image. And fail spectacularly if not.
Xsarius and Qviart have one such recipe in their BSP, it always fails on a new build, and need clearing and rebuilding manually to get it compiled.

A Vu+ related question
With all the work to get KODI on MIPS to work done/ongoing by A.A.
What is needed to put KODI in plugin feed for example DUO2 on develop for testing?
Is it something needed from VU+ or is it from the openpli team?
OR whats the reason?
Just trying to understand.

Kodi interacts directly with the hardware (both audio and video), so it needs driver support from the vendor.
VU+ is a special / extra complicated case because it's ALSA audio driver implementation isn't all that.

@ntj
this kodi stuff is not yet 100% on all devices.
Besides that I suspect there are superfluous patches and maybe missing ones.
That said for vuduo2 it seems ok, please test this temp image if you can't wait.
Note it is full of debug stuff, gdb, valgrind, ldd, strace, etc. and you cannot install from feeds.
I cannot test deeply (I just tried a couple of add-ons).
Please be patient a bit more, it will appear on the feeds soon.
Cheers

Maybe you can try to change this setting (it helped on my Ultimo4k but no idea why it helped)
System>Audio/Video>Audio/Video where it is a setting for "Audio auto volume level"
Set to HDMI = no sound on HDMI but sound on Optical
Set to Optical = Sound on HDMI but no sound on Optical
Set to off = Sound on both HDMI and Optical

Now with todays develop (20210703) with first possibility to install KODI on Vu+ DUO2 i can write that KODI is starting OK, but have some issues.
In KODI i have tested the "video add on" CNN and while i can start a Video in the plug in it will not have sound and will have a framerate of 2-5 frames a second (Like slow motion)
This is not the case on Ultimo4K (only problem choppy sound) and on DUO2 with OpenSPA.(Video and sound OK)
Maybe A.A. have some input?

Some extra info from testing, For the sound i will have sound with these settings

Set to Optical = Sound on HDMI but no sound on Optical
Set to off = Sound on both HDMI and Optical
For the low framerate on video, i wunder if there are som sort of buffer problem as if i pause the video and then start again it will play normal for a second or two and then low framerate again and also give stuttering audio.
First i was thining about the internet connection but it is cabled and i dont see this on the same box with OpenSPA or on Ultimo4K on the same connection.

@ntj
I tried the CNN plugin and playback does stutter. On vuduo2 nothing to change for audio, all as default.
Other plugins I tried are playing well, it depends on the codecs probably.
There are differences with OE-Aabout ffmpeg and, perhaps, some kodi patches forcing gstreamer use.
@Rudi1
For mipsel I could not find any widevine to install.
Only for arm STB (or with license).

Before you can use netflix you have message that you must install widevine and then this go automatic but also the message appear that develop image
not support the new widevine,do you like to install old one which will be soon removed from google.If you install the old one netflix works on osmio4k.

@A.A.
I wrote about the CNN plugin as everyone can test with that one. (no geolocking and in English)
I have problem with stuttering on all streaming plugin i have tested.
i probably have to live with using the alternative image for the play service i use (SVT play) or/if something can be done with some patch for VUDOU2

About widevine DRM as far as I understand it is taken from a compiled Chrome. Nothing for mipsel atm.
The problem for arm is that the version used by kodi 18 expired as of 01/06/2021.

As for kodi optimizations on mipsel, I think the only difference could be ffmpeg configuration (or maybe dvbsink) because we are using the same kernel and drivers.
