Did you plug in your external hdd after it was started? Then it might be a udev hotplug issue, as it seems to work if it is already connected when the box boots.

No. I had checked the HDD with a different plugin other than File Browser, namely the DreamExplorer Plugin - which I installed myself not from the Downloads. All I could see then, were the contents of just one same partition four times over but not the remaining three or of a usb pen drive. And this after having installed the mountmanager plugin. Didn't know that all I needed was the File Browser Plugin from the Downloads.

There was a glibc patch, which causes all C code to be recompiled. Rebuidling the kernel, Kodi and Qt already takes about 1 hour per image alone.

New image today 30th for solo2. Is this the one with all the new updates?

Since i use the 8.1, i have noticed the update is very long ?

Is it normal ?

Do i have something to do ?

Same here on vuduo4kse: Reflashed with 0930 image, then still 167 packages can be updated afterwards, including the famous busybox, which meant in previous posts that flashing is recommended:

BTW after flashing module ftdi_sio was not loaded, causing   /dev/serial/by-id/   being not available.

Modprobe ftdi_sio solved it & after a reboot ftdi_sio was automatically loaded again => not an issue, but surprising.

We're still working on this issue, and we think we've found the cause. A solution is currently tested in develop.

I have just done the last update (30/09) and after about 10 minutes on the update screen, i have switch off the vu+, and after i have no more boot.

I had to reflash from an old usb key (7.2) then i used BackupSuite to refound the 8.1 (18/09).

But now, i don't know if i have to update again to the last version ?

What do you think about this ?

I think you should never switch it off. That action has corrupted the filesystem. You don't switch your PC off as well, when it is in the middle of an update?

How long does it take to take this last update ?

Depends on what's in it. And how fast the box is. And how much free space there is in flash.

Where are the directory to clean ?

Because, it seems very long to me (more more than 10 minutes)

Don't update to 0930, flash 0930.

You can flash from openpli itself, no need for an USB key.

It is on the line above the line 'update'.

I flashed a Duo2 without any problem.

After having 0930, don't update but flash the next version (when it will become available) due to too many packages (yesterday 167) offered to be updated.

There is one more gllibc coming which might bring a lot of updates and requires a flash, but we think we found the issue. A solution is currently being tested.

So it's not lack of space, there's still 7.9MB avaialble.

 

Did you restore a backup after you've flashed? It could also be you've backupped stuff you shouldn't, like /etc/pam.d. If you restore that from a previous version, it might have broken authentication.

I  install fresh soft from usb, everythink works fine. Then i chek for updates , in update section i';ve got 104 updates. After instaling them all , i lost ftp connection .

 

hello,

i am on the latest openpli release with vu+ uno and have the same issue no telnet and no ftp.

ssh need an password but i ve no password set.

 

i try:

- telnet via debian (connection refused)

- telnet via puttytel (connection refused)

- check the shadow file root, empty password

- check the inetd.conf file

- try to reset the passwd via plugin (cant connect via ssh)

 

i restore my settings i did not try ftp oder telnet after the clean installation

 

some help is appricated
