Open tuner setup --> Set  same number "Channel" 1420 (2) , e.g. tuners A -->28.2 "Channel" 1420 (2) and tuners B-->19.2 "Channel" 1420 (2)

 

 

1)play live tv  19.2E( need service DVB-S2 system)

2)play as PiP 28.2E(need service DVB-S2 system)

 

And another question...

When the black screen (tuned failed), does it happen immediately or three seconds after play as PiP on the channel of another satellite?

what the difference to what I tested earlier?

Both das erste HD and  ZDF HD are S2, same is true for BBC one HD (I have always used the HD services)

 

By the way: I am happy with what you have achieved: I can record a 28.2 and watch a 19.2 service in parallel! Great!

I even could record a second service on either satellite: Happy days! ;-)

It is a good working workaround now but only 4 tuners (2 x 19.2, 2 x 28.2) are available. If you have the demand to make more recordings in parallel with more than 2 transponder on 19.2 and  more than 2 transponder on 28.2 you can´t do that. But now it  is better than your past setup and works stable

 

If the problem is not fixable because of a bug inside the vuplus driver you can buy an other unicable LNB with more than 4 Userbands (e.g. 24)  to configure different frequencies for all 8 tuners.

Hi Dimitrij,

 

tested as asked for.

PiP freezes as soon as the other tuner kicks in, no difference to S2 channels.

by now I a happy with the improvements, no black screen, when a recording is starting in the background makes a hugh difference ;-).

May be in spring or summer, when climbing on the roof is less unpleasant, I might think about installing a different LNB, though about the gigablue one....

So there are two versions:

1) bug in VU+ drivers

2) bug in the enigma2 code(I reviewed a lot of code these days and did not notice anything criminal)

 

In any case, additional checks from other users are required.

 

 

By the way, after https://forums.openp...op-multistream/ topic, I concluded that the bug is in the VU+ drivers.

as mentioned earlier I used the have VTI  on my box. When I installed the two unicable LNBs it was version 13.x or 14.x, not sure.

But I am pretty sure the problem with the black screen occurred after I upgraded to VTI 15 (ask anudanan, he might remember my first posting 2 years ago on www.vuplus-support.org).

I tried to downgrade to 14.x, but this did not resolve the issue.

Not sure if the VTI 15 image did change underlying drivers??

I don't recommend doing it manually.

Better find the old image.

Tests with older vti versions are not so easy since the last days because the vti forum and feeds are all offine. 

 

I hope they will come back online for supporting vti users.

Install plugin enigma2-plugin-extensions-automatic-fullbackup in feed,create full backup openPli on USB.

Unzip VTI image on USB(e.g. folder vti) -->enigma2-plugin-extensions-automatic-fullbackup key blue --> Restore backup -> folder vti

Perform a dual satellite test, you can only scan the desired frequencies.

Install openPLI backup as standard via a USB flash drive.

did the test with VTI13, unfortunately this old version doesn't resolve the problem.
