Oscam is written in C++, it has no relation whatsoever with Python.

Some of the users have  complained that vpn manager is not working  in open pli 8.3 and also in nightly builds to. During test I found a entry of the file at etc/  'resolvconf.conf '  along with 'resolv.conf'

After deleting this file  'resolvconf.conf ' Vpn manager and other pure vpn  now working flawlessly .

That probably breaks DNS resolving.

The more likely problem is that this plugin hacks resolv.conf, which is no longer used (in develop), as we've switched to openresolv.

Install openresolv

opkg install openresolv

I faced a similar issue when setting up a fixed IP address in OpenPLi 8.3, installing openresolv fix the empty resolv.conf after reboot.

here in openpli-8.3 it works if i delete the empty /etc/resolv.conf, put a new one on the same place with content;

# Generated by resolvconf
nameserver 103.86.96.100
nameserver 103.86.99.100

and make then;

chattr +i /etc/resolv.conf

it can also help if you make in the networksettings under dns (nameserver) the same entries

Pike

i don't think that it is a good idea to lock the /etc/resolv.conf anyway since OpenPLi is running under root user I don't think that this change anything.

Install openresolv reboot the box, go in the GUI to check/adapt the DNS entries, put the box into standby to be sure it is saved and everything should work.

Hi all, I was hoping someone can advise, I'm running OSCam r11714 on my VUUno4KSE, Open PLi8.3, and want to update the OSCam to r11718 (or r11719).

I see there's an oscam softcam in the Plugins section, oscam (git 10622+ede10dc-r0.1).   That naming convention on the Plugin is way over my head, can someone interpret for me please.

If that's not the latest OSCam version, how best to update my VUUno4KSE?

Cheers.

Because? What is crucial in those 4 commits?

Because I'm visually challenged and, as I have r11718 on my other VU boxes, I appreciate the coloured interface on the Reader interface, it just makes it easier to see what's going on.

Can you answer my question, is the Plugin the r11718 I'm looking for or is there another way to do this, I've found r11718 elsewhere but it has the complier's name in the title bar and TBH that's not for me.

In commit 11719, I see no additions which will do anything with the colours in the GUI, but in commit 11718 from 5 months ago, a cosmetic change in the reader section is made.

I've updated the pinning, it will build r11719 this weekend.

And I've updated the build for the VU+ Uno 4K SE, so if you do a software update, you should get the latest version.

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Ultimate (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

Many answers to your question can be found in our new and improved wiki.

Yes, that's the one that I find helps me view the activities in the Reader section

Perhaps you need to explain what you want to do, rather than how you want to do it?

From the openpli wiki:

... here is explained how to change the function that is assigned to a remote control key.

By default hotkey is not present in the Menu of OPenPLi so you have to change the User Mode to expert. You can do this via Menu > Setup - System and then the second option in OpenPLi 7 this is Menu > Setup > System > Expert settings > User Mode. There you can change the level from 'normal' to 'expert'.

After this Go to Menu > Setup > System > Expert settings > Hotkey where you can edit Hotkey's. This nice feature gives you full control over your hotkeys and how they are defined.
