Regarding the GMEPG. I just updated and noticed the improvement.

One thing. As the background color is identical to the color of the program bars it seems not visible all the time.

OK seems still something is not working right. Maybe you have to wait to the next build of the nightly image (Or did the build is done already? If that is the case then something is still missing)....There should be a borders...But that is in the enigma2 code change. Not in the skin.

In second infobar it is allowed, it switches between infobars, next time you´ll get the 2nd infobar you have choosen with lonk OK, no need to use long OK all the time, by the way in neutrino style it is Exit and long Exit and not OK

 

there are two screens for 2nd infobar in skin.xml

We tried to migrate stuff… maybe others should also do? I know the long ok toggling between two second infobars is a bit tricky but you can have a technical one and a non technically one instantly…. Actually it also toggles a config. And the default from this config each image can define by itself… maybe for us it is also better to change the default to technically.
On this skin there is no real space for the tuner stuff… maybe better to move this on the second infobar on the location where we are the crypto info. And move the crypto info line to a different place (maybe just put the complete tech info all we have in the middle of the technical second infobar…
The simple was a feature request long long time ago… some did not want all that technical stuff. And at that time it was also very pushy to get it done as the trend was an easy view without Xmas tree stuff. For the same reason that time also the flashing for Rec was removed.

So currently the default is "technical" second infobar.... SecondInfobarSimple is available after once you do long OK.

 

So by default it is shown the technical info... I think that is weird...

 

For normal end users i think is better the SecondInfobarSimple to be the default...

For advanced users only technical second info bar have meaning.

I can live with the tuner usage info not being visible in the infobar, but I'd like it to be visible somewhere.

 

As to the rest of the technical stuff in the 2nd infobar: is that all still relevant and needed? I know it was added on request of a specific user who had a specific use for that information, which is no longer relevant.

Besides i am not sure is that separation needed now. IN the skin in current SecondInfobar is all info (except that tuner states that i will add later)... So i am not sure is it needed something more...

I would consider to replace the letters for encryption by the tuner letters and put the encryption letters somewhere else on the technical second info bar.

But then why not the SecondInfoBarSimple is not the default one? I think that is what normal user wants to see. A simple info... Probably EPG only.

 

If it is advanced user he can switch his infobar to the technical one...

 

Ofcource that would lead to problems with code sharing since other distros also have "technical" second infobar as default

I am wondering what more info (that is missing currently from the second info bar) we can show there except that tuners info?

I would go for default having advanced/expert also for menus. For non experts usually an expert will install the image and then scale done ../ but years ago between the two infobars it was decided to have the quick button so you can instantly switch… the same we have for the two line channel selection with the teletext button (maybe for this the pvr/list button is better). For both the idea was that you do not need to go via a config screen

There are people that are adamant and don't want lots of config, but have no problem against 60 million different key combinations.

Yep and maybe we should consider to do both… config and the button trick… then at least at the config you can show in the description the button trick exists… below the button trick a config toggle exists… aka I also forgot the teletext button did something in the channellist… I was convinced I reverted the two lines in the config list

Maybe put the tuner string in the gray part at the Boltom in the second infobars left from the picons on the right side. It puts also some attention to Thai gray part and it’s information
