There is also a fourth color… on other channels highlight event/program that is played on the current time… I’m afraid this is exactly one that is not really needed and we could give normal backbground. I think this might make the complete look better.

I don't understand what you mean. I see3 different colours being used here (ignoring recordings).

 

p.s. I find these colours much, much better that the latest green/blue gradient ones...

If I may add, if would be nice, if the color which is used for the current position (see green arrow in picture below) would be a more vibrant

According to your screengrab...

 

1. Background of events stay black

2. selected event (cursor position) -> gray with yellow text

3. current event -> green 

 

as you said ignoring all other recording colors.

 

Am i understood correct?

 

In addition remove the current service blue background from the events but keep it under the service/picon?

 

If that is the case it can be easy reverted back to before graphics...

Like what? I have tried with blue...See my previous posts...

Maybe white with yellow letters? Now the color is almost the same color as the bar below  with zap and add timer etc. 
 

It is just a suggestion and may I add, the the others colours used with the  EPG are quit nice

What I meant was, all colours in this screenshot are fine for me, except the cursor / selected programme, which is yellow-on-grey. Which is also what Pr2 and 40H3X mentioned.

 

The grey is to close to the black of the background, and is easily lost when a short (like 5 minute) programme is selected, so it needs to be a colour that pops out more, even if it is only 10px wide. And the colour if the text is then the inverse of the background colour (or thereabout).

What i dont get what color you propose to replace the gray?

The problem is that if you take the extreme compared to the background ( = white background with black text ), it would make it easy to find in the second screenshot, but if you have a programme that lasts 2 hours, you need sunglasses to look at your TV.,

 

So some middle ground is needed, something bright enough yet not in your face.

 

Maybe something in the range of #FF9759 or #F38F65 ?

With the green stuff I meant the events at current time in the new skin, which is dark blue in the default skin. Maybe not highlightning these also brings more ‘rest’ to our brains…. It is too much.
But you see also green is more foreground as the blue one… so green points to more important. So swapping it may also help

I don't see that as a problem, the colour intensity of both are similar. But to each their own...

It is not a problem it is more the attention a brain get to a color. By design in this new skin it is not smart.:.. usually on a dark background light colors give to a human brain more attention…. There is even math behind it.

Another thing I noticed this afternoon when restoring a previous created backup on an sf8008 supreme with the default PLi skin.

The progressbar is usually / always been white. This afternoon I noticed that white has vanished and the remaining time was darkgrey and no more white.

I wonder why those vanished colors might be caused by your skin? I can’t imagine that the initial creator of that skin, Littlesat or Ims, recently have made changes in this skin. 
 

In addition to what I previously noticed I just noticed that when skipping in a recording there is no progressbar on the TV screen too. I really miss this.

That issues are not caused by the skin. It is caused by the recent changes for rounded corners support in skins. That lead to issues/differences how the skins for progressbars have to be defined.

 

If i understood correct you were testing on sf8008 supreme which doesnt have LCD and only 7segment display. So your issues are in TV screen (in actual ui). I will look at that.

There is something in cpp changed regarding the progress bar which is somehow not backwards compatible. Somehow the ‘default’ colors as it was is broken. So also with the auto install the color of the progressbar on top is changed

So The problem is only in OpenPLi. OE-A images doesnt suffer from that issue not matter it is the same code. Maybe somewhere something different there is in rendering... I have to more investigate...
