That is the $1.000.000 question :)

I don't really know.

The problem is that if you take the extreme compared to the background ( = white background with black text ), it would make it easy to find in the second screenshot, but if you have a programme that lasts 2 hours, you need sunglasses to look at your TV.,

So some middle ground is needed, something bright enough yet not in your face.

Maybe something in the range of #FF9759 or #F38F65 ?

Well the only solution is to have separate graphic for entries smaller than 50px for example that is much brighter. If such a graphic is not defined then use standard selection graphic.

It is not a problem it is more the attention a brain get to a color. By design in this new skin it is not smart.:.. usually on a dark background light colors give to a human brain more attention…. There is even math behind it.

Exactly, that's the problem that I have my brain think the cursor / highlighted program is in a vivid color and today it is just the opposite, and this is really confusing. So if we have the current service line in grey and the cursor in blue will fix the problem, so just by swapping both color I will be happy.

The main problems is not all people will be happy to that change ;)

I will say again the most bright color that contrasts on black is white!

But as @WanWizard said this is suitable for the very short events, but not good on long one because it will be so bright and will draw to much attention.

So i propose to have different graphic/color for selection of very short events.

Sorry I disagree with this proposal, it's an MGEPG and not a Christmas tree where the colour will change when cursor event are small.

This is not ergonomic.

Of course the idea of the cursor position is to draw the attention on it, why the full line of the current watching TV drawn much attention than the current cursor position this is a non sense.

It's 10 o'clock and I browse the MGEPG to prime time and the currently watched channel full line draw more the attention than the cursor position, this is abnormal.

Sorry but when I am this situation my brain naturally think that "Cauchemar en cuisine" is the currently highlighted program. So I must force it to say not it is not it is "Maison à vendre"

So one line, 2 events it is always the brightest one that the brain will considered as highlighted.

I'd say don't bother. Don't make it too complex.

I can even live with both the current channel and the active programme being the same colour, as long as, like Pr2 says, the selected programme pops out.

And like i said...Not all people have same thinking....And when i change it like that they will start to complain.

In my opinion we should get rid of that colored backgrounds depending on the event type and rely on the icons to mark which is the recording event, which is the zap only event, which is now event and which is primetime event.

In this way you can keep single selection color and it will not be a christmas tree since the color will be only 2 - normal and selection.

Like I said, I can live with one colour for the current channel and the active programme, but I would like to keep the red for recordings.

Well but there always will be somebody that will not like the chosen selection graphic.... I try to satisfy everyone's wishes....., but seems not possible.

Don't think it's that bad.

The only comment that is made sofar is that the colour for the currently selected programme should be the brightest so it is easy to locate, and currently, with the grey background colour, it isn't.

Whether or not there are different colours used for the current channel and the active programme per channel, I don't think that is very relevant, and I even want to go as far as say that the active programme per channel colour isn't really relevant at all.

After all, what is the point of an "all green first column", the red line already indicates what is currentlt playing on each channel?

OK...So what is the final solution? Make current service gray and selection color the blue one currently used for current service?

Sorry but i totally got confused and i would like to be taken a decision finally....

Keep in mind that the skin have to work on both OE-A and OpenPLi and between GMEPG in that 2 are huge differences.

The key I think is that the (brightness of the) background colour should be in function of the importance of the programme.

The darkest is for the standard background. A bit brighter should be the first column, the currently active programme on each channel. A bit brighter still should be the currently playing channel (and for me these two may have the same colour), and brightest the selected programme, so your eye gets drawn to it.

Using the currently used colours that would be:

  • standard background: white text on black
  • active programme per channel: white text on grey
  • currently playing channel: white text on green
  • selected programme, white text on blue
  • curently playing programme: yellow text on blue

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Ultimate (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Maybe oe-a also suffers from it as maybe they predefined the colors or so without having a default. But I know it will be resolved.

So that hopefully will be resolved with this: https://github.com/O...igma2/pull/3909

OE-A doesnt have the issue since they dont have that scrollbarSliderForegroundColor that breaks the functionality since it is not initialized properly in PLi.

Yes. you have more colors and because that was not initialized as "not set" in constructor of eSlider and it thought there is color but actually it was null and that is transparent color.

In OE-A (in particular ViX) there is master setting for scrollbars. So they dont have separate colors in eSlider.
