But the screenshot is a binary dump of the framebuffer, and in the screenshot the red on orange is unreadable.
So if it is different in your preception, it is (the setup of) your TV that is the problem?
It can be the TV settings. I understood orange and red are similar but it looks more contrast on my side.

When the text could be white... make it white.... When the background could be changed, choose a color 'gray' with e.g. a 'yellow' or 'green' accent... so the red looks good on it...

No the text color can not be changed since the same is used for unavailable services. If unavailable services are made gray then it will conflict with real selection (same gray).
And yellow text is not appropriate for unavailable services imho. So we need another color...

When performing and OpenPLi update from the GUI, we have a black full screen mentioning that it can takes several minutes, the problem is that this screen background is not full black.
So by transparency we can see the default OpenPLi background (since I use develop it's the television test pattern) which is in fact quite ugly, would it be possible to turn the upgrade full screen background into full black?

NPO1 HD on 23.5E doesnt have hbbtv at all.

OK. Added solid background to the QuitMainLoop screen (i hope is this one).
Also added TMDB skin for PLi version.
