Do you have other usb connected? Try to remove all usb device except that stick.

Try connecting to front usb and later on rear..

Later I could test on my box.

I've tried all this, but to no avail.

This needs to be fixed for all users who will use multiboot.

Why? Adding more sleep might impact the multiboot experience.

This functionality is an extra and is not necessary.

If you need to recover the box you can always flash the standard kernel_auto.bin and you have access with an FTP client to all guest image.

Gigablue sells his broadcom boxes without a recovery and nobody complained.

I just want to fix this error, and for everyone, especially for inexperienced users.

As I read in this thread, simply adding STARTUP_RECOVERY helps everyone, but it does not work for me.

So that's not right.

Let's fix this together.

I assembled my assembly for ultimo 4k and tested the multiboot. There was no choice to download other images, except for OpenPli.I threw the archive from OpenATV into the root of the disk and then the system saw the archive and installed it in slot 1.Rebooted,picked up my channel and network settings.Rebooted through the shutdown menu to your assembly.

Maybe add sleep 3-4 sec only Duo4k before mdev -s?

For now I'm using a simple solution:

cp /boot/STARTUP_RECOVERY /boot/STARTUP

Maybe put slot 0 on the top and just name it slot 1 2 3 4…. And put (recover) behind slot 1 (now 0) when it is not selected?

Just a suggestion from my side. To prepare the box for multiboot you have a menu option in standby/Restart menu. I think a better place is a yellow or blue button in he flash image selection screen. Maybe yellow button when you cannot remove a previous downloaded image and maybe also add blue button to add foreign images json files.

when you flash an image having setup for multiboot is I think a beter place.
