Have you tried the other way around? So that the receiver switches the TV-set on and off?
By that, you could really save power, because you can put the receiver in deep stand-by.

The problem here is we are mixing 2 different problems.
1. Problem tv not waking up the receiver from standby ( not as useful feature but It doesn't work in my case)
2.(One I was mentioning in the last two posts) Receiver switching off and on when the input source is changed ( when I switch to YouTube on Tv and etc receiver should go to standby, and when I switch the input source to receiver it should wake up from standby

To log the commands in standby, restart Enigma in debug mode. Then switch the receiver to standby.
Repeat the test sequence with the TV. Then restart Enigma in standard mode.
Hopefully all CEC commands will be available in the Enigma debug log.

But I am missing the big picture. What else is connected to the TV? And why would you want this particular setting?

where is enigma2 debug log saved?

With Enigma receivers, power saving in stand-by is quite minimal.

Deep stand-by, on the other hand, makes quite a difference.

The Enigma debug log is in /home/root. Look for lines beginning with [eHdmiCEC]...

Deep stand-by that makes quite a difference.

but it makes a difference with the overheating problem which is very often present on Zgemmas

What is the exact test sequence you performed with the TV?

deep standby would be good only when tv is shut down as well not when input source is changed

If I restart the receiver to debug mode and then to standard mode and then I do the same thing again, is the debuglog saved for both instances or only for the last one? If it is for both that's why there is so much log.

yes

The debug file is reused and increases. Better delete it before restarting in debug mode.

It is difficult to see now, what belongs to the last test sequence, as there are no timestamps.

This is the extract from the last log file.

[eHdmiCEC] detected physical address change: 1000 --> 2000
[eHdmiCEC] send <Report Physical Address> 20 00 04
[eHdmiCEC] send <Menu Status> 00
[eHdmiCEC] send <Inactive Source> 20 00
[eHdmiCEC] send <Menu Status> 01
[eHdmiCEC] send <Active Source> 20 00
[eHdmiCEC] received <Active Source> 00 00
[eHdmiCEC] received <Routing Change> 20 00 00 00
[eHdmiCEC] received <Active Source> 00 00
[eHdmiCEC] send <Menu Status> 00
[eHdmiCEC] received <Give Deck Status> 01
[eHdmiCEC] received <Give Physical Address>
[eHdmiCEC] send <Report Physical Address> 20 00 04
[eHdmiCEC] send <Active Source> 20 00
[eHdmiCEC] send <Menu Status> 00
[eHdmiCEC] received <Give Device Power Status>
[eHdmiCEC] send <Report Power Status> 00

The TV sends this command when it is switched to another source::

[eHdmiCEC] received <Routing Change> 20 00 00 00
[eHdmiCEC] received <Active Source> 00 00

With a new option, the receiver could switch to standby when it is no longer the active source.

In the last test sequence, did you switch the TV back to the HDMI input of the receiver? Because I can't see this. The command would be needed to wake up the recever.

Here is what I did exactly:
1.Restart to debug mode
2. Switch to standby mode
3. Change TV's input source (at that moment current input source was receiver before changing )
4. Change TV's input source back to receiver
5. Switch the receiver on from standby and restart it to standard mode

I did as you can see in the summary in post before but I may have restarted receiver to standard mode too quickly (if it is possible) so hdmi cec commands weren't sent but I doubt that is possible

Line 14 and Line 15 are commands that are sent by tv when the input source is switched to the receiver ( but receiver is not in standby mode in this screenshot of course) 4d8163a94442216a9edf96405f00427f.jpg

When the receiver is in standby, the TV is not signalling when it's back to the receiver input.

I'm afraid, nothing can be done...
