This modification is a typical quick fix.  No attention has been given to the potential consequences.

In order to improve it, there should be a separate import sources list for each time slot.  Of course same sources could be present in different time slots:

Each time slot should be given its own selection of sources.

In this way you can distinguish between different sources.

f.i. the Rytec sources should only be imported once a day.  Preferably after 8h30, or even after 10h30 each morning.

Other sources can be imported at different times.

Think also about the manual import button.  Which list do you want to import?

Of course this will not solve the problem of people defining everything in each time slot.

But these people should be castrated.

Do not forget the option:  Erase all EPG in your receiver.

This should also be moved to each time slot.

Maybe all other options too....

My IPTV provider provides EPG data only for the next 18-20 hours.

So I understand the request and intend to implement it.

There are some circunstances (when the box crash for exemple) where it starts without any EPG data available (epg.dat became empty).

So import the EPG is the only solution.

So if you limit the download to every 24H you will have to remains without EPG on your box.

I don’t understand the reason why this PR is not used.

We discussed everything in this topic and came to the conclusion that sometimes it is simply necessary.

I repeat, my paid(!!!) EPG provider provides data only for 18-20 hours a day.

I need two imports per day, which is what I did in this PR.

For my part I've found another solution to take in account the less than 24 hours epgs, eg Pluto TV, Samsung TV ....

In fact, I download once a day the rytec sources I need and every 3 hours the other epgs. And I have a script which generate a xml containing all epgs (rytec and others). And with e2m3u2b I update my epg every x hours.

The advantage is to download just once a day the rytec sources.

@dimitrij,

Can you explain EXACTLY what this change to epgimport does, as I can't make heads nor tails from your English ;). And the code isn't very clear too, as the commit also seems to contain lots of code clean up and other changes.

Ok, so the value selected is an hourly offset on the selected import time?

And what is the definition of "once a session" ?

Auto start EPG import this day(e.g. 12:00)

When completed start of the Enigma2 timer with a delay,e.g. 6 hours.

If you restart the GUI/reboot the receiver, this timer will not run.

Ok. So the explaination is that the value isn't saved, so it remains active until Enigma restarts (for whatever reason). Clear.

Is this acceptable?

msgid "Hours after which the import is repeated"
msgid "Number of hours (1-23, or 0 for no repeat) after which the import is repeated. This value is not saved and will be reset when the GUI restarts."
