Good evening, I have a request for you. I uploaded openpli 9.0 to the octagon sfx6018, but it is impossible to connect via FTP. Thank you

Have you set a password? Without one, FTP and SSH don't work (for security reasons).

 

You can use telnet to connect, and the commandline command "passwd" to set one, or install one of the password plugins and use the remote.

You get it wrong I think.

 

Connect to the box in telnet

login is root

and there is no password

 

Then when you have the prompt type:

 

passwd

 

And choose a password of your own.

 

Once the password test the FTP access with the password that you have just defined.

Then your box will be connected to DCC

If still not connected, click on Router,
Enter the IP address of your box into the router,
Then click Reconnect Click Reconnect again,
Now your box should be connected to DCC,

Hmm in openpli 9 there is a problem with FTP on this box! FTP is ok in openpli 8.3.

So you better go back to 8.3.

Hmm Here no issue at all with ftp…. And also not with Winscp or just clicking on an windows explorer \\ip.from.box…. No ftp needed at all…
Maybe the reelbox application does not work properly anymore due to it became outdated ? I never use that kind of applications I use winscp, putty ot just the standard explorer. No need for these kind of applications….

Yes, you are right, the connection goes through winscp. But I loaded openpli 8.3 and openpli 9.0 into multiboot and FTP is ok

With WinSCP use port 22 instead of 23, as WinSCP is a graphical open source FTP client for Windows that uses the SSH protocol. FTP works fine on OpenPLi 9.0, I would suggest you use something like FileZilla, if you want to FTP to access your receiver.

WinSCP also should work fine once a password is set.

there is one more problem, when installing the astra-sm package through the software management manager, the box freezes, only turning off the power to the box helps

Reel Control Center v2.30 was released Oct 26, 2008, so it is over 15 years old.

 

Having said that, the FTP protocol is much older, and hasn't changed in like forever, so as long as vsftpd is running on the box, it should work.

Check on the box if it is running

also,

 

If I look at your screenshot, I see that your PC is in a different IP subnet than the box. What is in between? Does that allow the FTP protocol through? Both control and data ports?
