I don't know if that is a problem or not, which is why I asked what is between the two. I also have my boxes on a seperate subnet, and run a commercial firewall as router, so if I don't explicitly open FTP, it won't work.

 

I can only say I've never seen a case where ftp didn't work.

 

As to backupsuite, chances are th SFX6008 isn't supported by backupsuite at the moment.

 

If you are in a position to edit files on the box, then find "backupsuite.sh" in "/usr/lib/enigma2/python/Plugins/Extensions/BackupSuite/" and on line 400, change

elif [ $SEARCH = "hd60" 

to

elif [ $SEARCH = "sfx6008" 

If that doesn't fix the error, try changing

elif [ $SEARCH = "sf8008"

which is 3 lines above it, and change that to

elif [ $SEARCH = "sfx6008"

Today, I flashed my SF8008 to 9.0 with the settings from 8.3.

The flash process installed the serienrecorder 4.6.5.

After updating to 4.6.7, I had a Green- Screen.

 

How can I flash the new Image withot loosing my settings but without installing the serienrecorder plugin?

Please report the bug to the author: https://github.com/e...recorder/issues. We don't maintain the plugin. I see it has all sorts of code to self-update, that is always a pain.

Flash the box. Do not restore a backup. Go through the first few setup questions, then exit the setup when you can. Go to auto backup in the menu, and press Blue to restore.

 

This restores the config but doesn't run autoinstall.

 

Atfer that, you could go to your backup directory, edit the "autoinstall" file and remove serienrecorder, then in the auto backup screen, press menu and run autoinstall.

This plugin is not present in OpenPLi, so you haven't downloaded a genuine image. Ask whereever you downloaded this fake image.

 

What is kernel-module-xt-multiport  ?

 

It is a linux kernel module. Whether or not is is built depends on the vendors kernel configuration. Most vendors don't, only 18 boxes in the list we build images for have this module, none of them are VU+.

The current programmer MacDisein had to copy a lot of code from his predecessor. I don't know if he can fix the problem.

With versions OpenPLi 4 up to version OpenPLi 8.3 the serial recorder ran without any problems...
I will continue to use PLi 8.3 for now.

 

In the meantime I will try to make the error reproducible. The process shots my DNS settings...

The problem is that as soon as the plugins are initialized, the plugin starts checking if there is updated source code. That code assumes you have a working plugin, and crashes if you have no database yet (i.e. it is the first time it is started after installation).

 

That entire checking needs to be removed, self-updating plugins play havoc with software management.

No, see the release notes.

 

If you had a fixed DNS IP address in 8.3, you need to reconfigure that after the restore in 9.0, as the method of storing it has changed, and due to the way it used to work it can not be automatically migrated.
 

If that causes an autoinstall with the restore to fail, go to auto backup in the menu, press the menu button, and choose for autoinstall to restore your plugins after you fixed the DNS.
