The develop image is to test future features that will be included later on in the stable images, so yes it will come in the future.

But be conscious that develop image can have bugs and can sometimes no longer boot after an update so be ready to flash your box when you use develop images and you get troubles.

Not sure what you are on about, streamrelay is needed to decrypt the iCAM encryption used, you will always need it. It is nonsense that these channels work in a develop image without using a streamrelay.

Hello,

I have changed my receiver yesterday, from a Vu+Duo2 in OP 8.3 to a Vu+Duo4KSe.

So, I have installed OP9, fine, nice job as always done by the OP team.

But I have 2 things that are not working:

- Enable Show picons, but nothing happens, they are not present.

- Timeshift not working, always the no function logo displayed on the top right corner.

 

Done too update online on last version, nothing changed.

Have you installed a picon set so there is something to display ?

Did you configure the correct location to store the timeshift recording? You usually get this when it can't be created.

Not sure what you are on about, streamrelay is needed to decrypt the iCAM encryption used, you will always need it. It is nonsense that these channels work in a develop image without using a streamrelay.

I think he is asking when the features in develop will be added to release image so that separate stream relay bouquets are not needed.

The function designed by PLi is in the other release images but not PLi.

I have not installed a picon set, previously, with all the "old" versions I used, there was no need, OP installed by itself the picons...

And for the timeshift, I cannot understand what do you mean, location is set in Europe, Paris, as I am in Switzerland.

What did I have to do to correct this 2 point?

Location is referring to storage location on your receiver. I.e do you have a storage device (flash drive, HDD) mounted.

For picons, double check you have a set installed. Easiest way to check is to pretend to remove/uninstall. If they are listed in the removal section, then they are installed. Uninstall and then install again.

Ok, one problem at the time:

For Picon, I never download or install something, with all my precedent OP versions, I just checked ON the show picons in GUI parameters and they were shown!
So, I cannot understand why not in OP9. And if I search on the web to download a picon set to install manually, I cannot find something, always "file not found" as if they were not necessary to be downloaded and installed itself by OP.

 

I am stuck on this, thanks for ideas.

 

EDIT: just find now the Setpicon plugin, installed and downloaded a picon set, IT WORKS!!!

That is impossible, there are no picons in the image as standard, and there have never been.

 

What is possible is that you installed them once,

• and by doing so it was registered in the auto-backup, which in turn installed them again after a restore of said backup
• or you've installed them on a harddisk or USB device, so they weren't removed by a flash

Did you flash the new version without restoring a backup (which would mean picons were also not installed again). Did you remove a device on which they could have been installed?

You can timeshift to a USB HD too, no problem. As long as you tell the box to do so (menu - setup - expert settings - recording paths - timeshift location ).

Really strange, because, anytime, I have installed OP, any versions I used, on an USB key, dowloaded from OP website. I never made an online upgrade. And I have done it from scratch, without restoring parameters! I cannot understand. Anyway, now it's working on 9.

 

Now, about timeshift, I received yesterday my 2,5" SSD, and when I insert it in the box, I have no wifi working. I can see the wifi network, in 2,4 or 5G, but impossible to activate it. If I extract the SSD, wifi works. Any idea?
Timeshift ok, but I have to declare my external HD and with the path. If I just choose the external HD, it says "not a valid place". Anyway, by choosing the movie path it works.
I think that when my SSD problem will be solved, I will not have this.

Back again:
Rollback to OP 8.3, because with 9, instant recording not working when there is already a programmed recording in progress.

Now with 8.3, it works.

 

And for my SSD, no change when in 8.3, any idea? Or SSD not compatible with OP?

You keep on having weird issues nobody else has.

 

There is no relation between an SSD and wifi, not on the software and not on the hardware level. Maybe inserting it snags an antenna wire in the box?

 

And there is also no relation between instant recording and timer recordings. If you have reception, you can always start an instant recording. What is your definition of "it doesn't work"?

 

Did you configure the recording location? Like with your timeshift issue before, you need to configure this is the default movie location doesn't exist (because you have no local hdd storage).

Yes, sorry, it's my fault for the instant recording, due to the path not defined as I use an usb external hard disk. Problem solved, sorry.

Now, I cannot understand why as soon my SSD is inserted, wifi is not working.
I can see my network but impossible to connect.
Without my SSD, I use my wifi without any problem, so...?

I think the SSD is internal, on the SATA bus...

 

I have no explanation, if the SSID can be seen in the scan, the wifi interface works. So maybe something in the config?

Testing latest dev build on SF8008, here are some things not really clear for me:

1) I've set always off in VFD Display setting but the Display shows again and again sometimes things like the channel number, time,... also when recording the display shows Rec and changing to channel nr / time and back. How to disable display totally? I don't want REC shown in my display

2) Currently I record a movie and while it records I began to view that recording already with Media Player. Here after some minutes an openpli image was shown?! Is this a screensaver? Why this happens when viewing a movie??

You need to remove the vfd plugin, it isn't compatible with the SF8008, but is pre-installed due to issues with the BSP.

 

There is indeed a screensaver present, but that will only kick in after the playback of the recording has been paused. It will never kick in when the recording is playing.
