Hi all,

I have an issue with the Kabelio CI Module. It get's recognized perfectly by Openpli, descrambles as designed (except some CI+ channels), but if I switch channels from a Kabelio Channel to a e.g. channel where OScam is used (in my case HD+) and then back to the Kabelio Channel there is no descrambeling at all. I have to restart the GUI or go to the Common Interface Menu, disable/able cam and it starts working again until I switch providers.

Is anyone had similar issues or a tip to solve this issue, pretty annoying tbf.

-> VU+ Duo 4k SE

-> Openpli 9

-> Kabelio CI

-> Oscam Emu with HD+ Smartcard

Thanks for your help.

If for some reason you want to use a CI module and OScam, you will probably run into error messages. The problem or better the errors are there because CI modules are designed to work standalone. So if you want to make them working together, best practice is using the "Commoninterfaceassignment plugin”. So to let a CI work together with a softcam download and install "Commoninterfaceassignment plugin" which is located in the system section of the Plugin browser. After installing the plugin goto Menu-> Setup -> SoftCam/CI -> Common Interface Assignment and define every channel for this CI module, that you have a subscription for. Enigma2 (OpenPLi) will then send all the other channels to the Softcam (OScam) and not to the CI module.

Thanks Dimitrij

I tried the CI assignment plugin, I had a smilar effect not descrambling. But will give it a go again.

Well. Tried the plugin. Same old.

It works at first, when switching channels and getting back to Kabelio Channels, no descrambling at all. sigh...

You need to fully ensure the CI does not get any requests when changing to other channels....

Indeed.

You need to do both, use CI assigment to create a list of channels going throught the CI, and you need to block these channels from getting an Oscam response.

I had the same issues with an M7 CI, and this fixed it, it is now virtually stable.

I’m afraid this is a kind of vu+ driver thing…

Possible, I've never used my module in a non-VU+ box.

The only issue I still have is that sometimes after an Enigma restart (for example a software update) the CI isn't seen. Given the fact there are timeouts and commununication errors logged when that happens, you're probably right.

You get logs from it…. Can you post them as they could help in a kind of ‘auto reinitialization’ of the CI

Well, back to the beginning.

It worked for one day, but the issue is still there.

Unable to switch channels without losing the detection of the CI module after a while. Only solution is to enable/able cam or restart GUI.

I have edited the oscam.dvbapi with I: 4AFC and even put an ignore into the oscam.conf

[4AFC]
caid = 4AFC
provid =
srvid =
services = !4AFC

When I turn off the oscamemu the CI module works perfect without any issues.

Is anyone having an idea what I could try?

Hi,

for such situations you could try to play with oscam.services (maybe negative services), but maybe it's a similar problem I had with the Sky module in openpli-8.3 because Sky was decrypted but if I e.g.: had created two timers one for a FTA channel and one pretty much at the same time for a Sky channel but the timer for the FTA channel starts first Sky could not be decrypted anymore.

you can find more to oscam.services with google (search for oscam.services or oscam.services for Kabelio).

regards

Pike

I have also just read (on the digital elite board) that someone with the Kabelio module who also uses oscam for other channels having massive problems with oscam
only in connection with this module and therefore has to restart the box all the time.
i don't know which image he is using.

You have to avoid services handled by the module also being handled by the softcam, whether or not it would be able to decrypt them. Likewise, you need to make sure only services decrypted by the module being routed to it.

So:

  • use the CI assignment plugin to list exactly which services need to be routed to the module
  • use one or more oscam service definitions, and block these on any reader

You need to install the plugin enigma2-plugin-systemplugins-slowzap  it will add an entry menu into the softcam.

You have plenty of possibilities to help you mix up Oscam and CI Descrambling, you can also add a delay when descrambling from CI.

Thank you all for your suggestions and tips,

well. I tried to add the service id's, used common interface assignment and the slowzap plugin.

It works in the beginning, after a while it will all goes back to black for the CI Module.

The slowzap plugin might indeed help here... but nothing seems to be optimal 100% here...

Module CI+ and VU+ box will not work correctly.

Has always been an issue. In most cases an "init" of the module will bring it back to live, occasionally it needs a disable/enable to force a "cold start".

Nine out of ten times this is also needed if you restart Enigma, like something gets our of sync. Definitely a driver issue.
