Hello guys, I desperately need your help in this one:

Is there a way to override the aspect ratio of the 2 images displayed in "picture-in-picture splitscreen mode" [blue button, green, 0] so that they cover all of the height of the tv (as it used to be on my dm8000 using openpli 6.x/7.x)  ??!

PS.: now I'm on uno 4kse & openpli-9.0

Post a screenshot of the previous result please?

In the pip sequence there is an option to support full height in split screen with deformed aspect ration when the hardware/drivers of the box do support it.

On the VU+ the PiP doesn't support full screen display you can only have for a quarter of the screen at max. If you try to increase it more you will find a driver bug that move slightly the PiP window and nothing happens. When you are in this bug you can no longer move the PiP screen, you will need to decrease the size until it really decrease and then you will be able to move again the PiP window.

It is a well-known VU+ driver bug that exist in every VU+ box that I owned.

So there is nothing that can be done right? That is very sad, but thank you for this info.

Verified... Indeed the VU+ driver(s) do not support this or have a bug here (and then we blocked it).

Only the screen with pip next to live TV... here the live TV is stretched and the PIP limited to 1/4 of full screen, but centered.... when we make the PIP larger than 1/4 of the screen then the box behaves unstable... (I speculate the max resolution for PIP is here HD instead of 4K maybe based on preserved RAM memory and/or limitations by hardware)

Well the last shot above is with PiP on full screen and live TV is not even shown. So the PiP can be sized to full screen too.

For sure the maximum resolution of PiP is 1080p. 4K PiP doesnt work on any box i've seen so far.

So the PiP can be sized to full screen too -> I agree... but that is the one and only exception that does not crash the drivers.... (maybe because the memory from the main picture is still free here).

I don't care about 4k in pip, 1080 would be just enough... :'(

Maybe I should try openpli-8 or there won't be any diff here??

The shots are from OpenViX....

There i dont experience any crashes or issues with PiP.

the view on image 132828 can be adjusted so live picture to be stretched too. I think that is a bug in python. But PiP works fine.

edit: I tried this on my uno4kse with same image and it work the same way.

Sounds the restriction may be removed... but before we need good testing on all the boxes...But is your output 4K in these cases?

Yes the hdmi output resolution is 2160p (4K) and on the screenshot both live and PiP are FHD services.

It also works if live is 4K and PiP is FHD. But PiP can not be 4K.

Could someone let me know when & IF this gonna happen. One more thing, this (if it gonna be altered) will happen on the "develp builds" in the first place??

This is what I see now in SystemInfo.py

BoxInfo.setItem("MaxPIPSize", model in ("hd51", "h7", "vs1500", "e4hd") and (360, 288) or (540, 432))

It seems for VU it is not limited to 1/4 of a screen but on 540x432.... full size is here 720x576!!! And I see exceptions for some boxes but I already know there are more boxes that need limitations....  I'm afraid we need at least change the 540 432 to 720 576... (it is based on SD resolution as kind of overlay). Somehow this was 'never' maintained....
